Armored Vehicles Spawn With Titan Tanks
Tanks in Fortnite are handy vehicles to own, as they are fully armed and can fire explosive blasts at anyone or anything that stands in your way. Designed by the Imagined Order to strengthen Fortnite’s defenses, these Titan tanks can destroy multiple buildings with their gigantic cannons. Their armored layers protect those inside.
It’s important to note, however, that they are not completely infallible, and their treads will not stand up to much damage before needing to be repaired. Locations of Fortnite Tanks
The named locations where Fortnite tanks spawn initially are those that are (or were) controlled by the Imagined Order. At the time of writing, that includes:
- Command Cavern x2
- Condo Canyon
- Coney Crossroads
- The Daily Bugle
- The Fortress
- Rocky Reels
- Tilted Towers
As you can see from the map above, the Fortnite Tanks start at their starting locations, but if IO Guards take control and head out on patrol, you may need to search the surrounding area to locate them. If another player has already commandeered them, they may be gone completely.
Fortnite Tank: How to Get One
Drive off when you see a vacant Fortnite tank, and you’ll have one at your disposal. Alternatively, you can take out the IO Guards driving the Titan around on patrol, and you can kill the turret gunner, but you must damage the Titan enough to make the driver appear and fight you. When you shoot off the treads around a tank’s wheels, it will stall. After dealing with the guards, use the ‘Repair’ prompt to fix the treads.
Fortnite Tanks: How to Control Them
A Fortnite tank can be driven by pushing the left stick forward or back. With thermal vision, you can aim the main cannon and then fire with the right trigger. Pay attention to the aiming reticule because the cannon barrel can only aim downwards to a certain angle if you want your shots to land where you want them. There are no weapons or protections on the mounted turret or two passenger seats.
When the tank treads are marked in red on the vehicle icon in the bottom right corner, you will barely be able to move. You can repair these by using the Repair prompt while next to them.
