Scan the Apartment Security Systems
The first two goals make up the majority of the enquiry because you can’t check for thermal clues unless you know they exist. To get the option to scan the thermal layer, go through these first.
The security systems may appear challenging at first if you are not paying close attention, especially since you won’t realise how much scanning is necessary until you have completed it all. In fact, you can grab four items practically instantly, which is part of the issue because several important items come in the first few seconds and there is a lot to miss before you ever realise you are moving.
Time to Scan / Layer – 0m10s / Visual
- Military-grade cyberware – you can’t really miss the giant cyborg guard so scan him as soon as you see him.
- Motion sensor camera – this is on the wall, up and to the right just outside the lift entrance.
- Alarm System – this is on the wall just to the right and left of the lift as you come out. Scanning either count.

- Motion Sensor Camera – there’s another motion sensor camera on the ceiling just in front of the giant TV.
0m30s / Audio
- Yorinobu’s phone conversation – You’ll be requested to listen to the audio layer of Yorinobu’s phone call at the 30-second mark. It’s challenging to miss since you’re basically told to. To hear about cooling and ventilation, you can also use the TV as an audio source. After 1 minute and 30 seconds into the dialogue, you’ll be instructed to locate and search the datapad for further relic storage. It can be challenging to find since the pad is almost always visible but isn’t truly turned on until the very end of the recording. As you progress through the recording, keep obtaining additional items.

- Turret and camera – You’ll be able to see an automated turret and a camera you can scan around two minutes into Braindance if you look up to the ceiling to the right of the TV.

- Datapad – You can scan the datapad while it is still switched when Yorinobu arrives at the bed, almost towards the end of the recording, right before he puts it away.
- Gun – You can scan a loaded gun that is on a chest at the end of the bed while snatching the datapad.
Scan for Thermal Clues to Find the Relic
You can re-run the full brain dance to locate the proper heat signature for the Relic storage once you’ve reached the end of the recording and scanned the datapad. This is done by opening up the thermal layer. There are several items to scan, all of which will be made to stand out by some blue vapour that denotes “cold.” We’ll go through everything you can find in reverse chronological order, supposing you’ll be moving backwards from the instant the Thermal layer is unlocked. You can scan every item in this room if you like, but the Hidden Safe is what you need.

- Hidden Safe – You’ll have a small opportunity at the start of the clip while Yorinobu and Evelyn are heading to the bar to get a drink so you may scan a hidden safe that is hidden on the floor in the opposite corner of the room. That’s what you need, and if you scan this, you can still exit the Braindance even if you haven’t finished the optional chores.
