A pet Phoenix can be acquired in Hogwarts Legacy. You have the option of capturing and taming a number of magical creatures in Hogwarts Legacy, and eventually releasing them into your Vivarium. It’s an animal sanctuary that’s part of the Room of Requirement. There’s one creature of legend that’s quite elusive, but you do have a chance to acquire it. Here’s how to tame your own Phoenix pet in Hogwarts Legacy.
Quest for Phoenix Rising
Getting a Phoenix pet in Hogwarts Legacy requires the Phoenix Rising quest, which won’t be available until later in the campaign. Here are some requirements:
- Complete the main quest Niamh Fitzgerald’s Trial.
- Finish all sidequests of Deek the house elf, including Plight of the House Elf and Foal of the Dead (to unlock the Beast breeding mechanic).
After receiving the Phoenix Rising quest, you’ll need to head to the northern part of the world map in a place called Poisear Coast to assist Deek once more.
During the campaign, you will visit this part of the game world. However, you can also visit the bandit camp in Coastal Cavern. There, you will see a tunnel that allows you to pass through the mountain range.
This Phoenix Rising quest involves entering a small dungeon called Phoenix Mountain Cave, where you’ll fight spiders and poachers.
You need to continue moving through the cave until you reach the Phoenix, who appears in front of you before flying away. Upon spotting it again, your character will mention that it seems to want to join you. So cast the Nab-sack spell and it will happily enter the container. You don’t have to follow the button prompts.
After you complete the quest, return to Deek in the Room of Requirement. Your Hogwarts Legacy Phoenix pet will now head straight to the Mountain Vivarium, the final biome upgrade.
