As Diablo 4’s general manager Rod Fergusson told GameSpot, a resurgence of the Diablo franchise is expected with the launch of the game as an early access title on PlayStation Network, which launched earlier this year.<\/p>\n
During a detailed interview with GamesRadar+, Doug Ferguson said that he believes Diablo 4 represents exactly what it represents to Blizzard, as the company continues to support Diablo Immortal on mobile while planning to retire Diablo 3, which was released eleven years ago, in the future.<\/p>\n

An interview with Fergusson, a representative of a news outlet out of Canada, was conducted in response to a question he was asked about the current state of Diablo 3. There has been a game that has always maintained its popularity and has kept people coming back for almost 11 years, and it has become a staple of people’s lives. It is estimated that millions of people still play this game every season, and it is expected that that number will continue to grow. If everything goes according to plan, Diablo 2 may be resurrected, but will be much more approachable than before. If you want to achieve this, you need to bring it to the console, modernize it, make it playable again with a controller, and renew its core by bringing it to the console.<\/p>\n
Diablo Immortal was the obvious next step in a direction that we needed to follow…in the middle of this situation, we concluded that we needed to go where the players were, which is on their mobile devices right now… With Diablo Immortal, we hope to expose Diablo to a wider audience and also be able to further spreading the word about Diablo as a result of its launch on the mobile platform… Our goal is to reach out to as many people as possible by releasing this mobile game for free.<\/p>\n
