You can use Fortnite’s marking ability to stay on top of your opponents when they are out of sight, so you can plan a sneak attack on them or avoid a potential ambush by keeping track of them. In Week 8, Fortnite quests ask you to mark enemy characters or players. Although there are multiple ways to do so, only a couple of them count toward the five marks you need to place.<\/p>\n
Here’s an explanation of what does and doesn’t count toward marking enemy players in Fortnite for this quest to help you figure it out.<\/p>\n

The first thing we need to do is set aside any ways that do not count towards this quest for marking enemy players in Fortnite. As a result of activating the Bloodhound Fortnite augment, hitting enemies with a marksman rifle will also not register if you tap or double-tap left on the D-pad to ‘ping’ them.<\/p>\n
Additionally, hiring a Fortnite character such as Longshot or Insight that scans the surrounding area for enemies won’t help you with this quest.<\/p>\n
Those are the only two ways that count toward this quest when marking enemy players in Fortnite. You can unlock the Tracker’s Armory augment after playing for a while, which grants you a Flare Gun and Shadow Tracker Pistol, both used to mark enemies and characters.<\/p>\n
