The Shiny Metal Raygun is a new weapon for this event that shoots unlimited energy beams if you meet Bender Bending Rodriguez (to give him his full title). This robot is not an official Fortnite character, but you can hire him to fight alongside you in the same way as other Specialists, increasing your chances of winning. If you want to find Bender in Fortnite, you can do so by heading to the far end of the main pier south of Mega City, which extends out into the lake. This particular location is fairly exposed due to the fact there are only two small food kiosks providing protection. However, if you need to escape quickly, there is also a handy launch pad you can use to launch yourself back into the air if you need to escape quickly. There is a possibility that Bender is not patrolling this area because another player has already hired him or he has already been eliminated, in which case you will have to try visiting again in a later match if you cannot see him.<\/p>\n

Getting Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite is as simple as interacting with the NPC and purchasing it for 600 gold bars. Also, Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun can be found as floor loot, but that relies on random chance, and unlike a new weapon, it cannot be obtained from chests.<\/p>\n

When not controlled, Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun will overheat and you’ll have to wait until it cools down before it can fire again. It shoots a steady stream of energy to deal reasonable damage; it has unlimited ‘ammunition’.
