There are many PC RPG games, but King’s Quest stands out as the most iconic. Sierra’s King’s Quest series takes players through a long and challenging story of the kingdom of Daventry and King Graham’s family. Initially, the DOS interface of the game led to physical difficulties. To date, climbing stairs has been the biggest pain in the gaming industry. The game, however, evolved into a point-and-click adventure with a full cast of characters and a bold storyline over time.<\/p>\n
After resolving some legal issues with Sierra’s holding company, Vivendi Universal, fans have launched what is likely the largest non-commercial gaming project ever: Silver Lining. Silver Lining is the ninth installment of the King’s Quest series (or 8 if you don’t count King’s Quest VIII as a part of the series). Playable chapters one through three are currently available.<\/p>\n

<\/h4>\nIn What Is Decreed Must Be, King Graham and the entire Royal Family travel to the Isle of the Crown from King’s Quest VI to witness a wedding. Unfortunately, bad things happen, and King Graham is forced to embark on a long and dangerous quest to remove them.<\/p>\n
The game’s mechanics are similar to those of King’s Quest V and later. You hover over the context menu on the top, select the action you want Graham to perform, and click where you want it to be executed. Even though this is only the first episode, there is a lot to explore. There won’t be hours of gameplay in this episode, though. It took me about an hour to complete the whole thing.<\/p>\n
The little asides Graham says in this RPG game download are my favorite part. When he makes cute jokes about previous installments, seasoned King’s Quest players like myself are in for a treat. PC RPG games allow kids to eliminate hordes of zombies. That’s big. Be sure to climb a spiral staircase as Rosella before proclaiming yourself a champion.<\/p>\n

Sierra released a poor game for KQ8. All you did was fight some mysterious guy. Street Fighter II was a better sequel than King’s Quest, and the company should be ashamed. The Silver Lining has delivered a product that far exceeds Sierra’s latest effort to bring closure to this great series of PC RPG games by staying true to the charming nature of King’s Quest.<\/p>\n

Be prepared to wait a while before you can start living the Daventry life again since these episodes are pretty large.
