Craft a Minecraft Lightning Rod With Copper
A Minecraft Lightning Rod protects you from Zeus’ destructive wrath if you find yourself caught in a storm. Normally, lightning strikes are harmless if they land in the open, but if they strike directly, they can easily zap your livestock or burn your Minecraft house to the ground. It’s better to build a Lightning Road than return to a smoldering pile if you want peace of mind.
Here are the steps for crafting the Minecraft Lightning Rod. Finding the recipe and materials for it is a little tricky, so we’ll show you how. You will also find out how to use this device in Minecraft in less obvious ways.
What Is the Minecraft Lightning Rod?
If you have a Minecraft Lightning Rod, lightning strikes will be diverted to hit the rod instead of other blocks around it. In Minecraft Java Edition, the Lightning Rod area is 32x4x32; in Bedrock Edition, it is 64x64x64. Mount it on a non-flammable block, such as stone, otherwise, a strike could ignite the base and other nearby flammable blocks.
When it’s clear or raining normally, the Lightning Rod won’t do anything. But if it emits tiny white sparkles, lightning is about to strike.
Lightning Rods can be removed and placed elsewhere, but make sure you use a stone or quality pickaxe to remove them, otherwise, you will not get anything out.
How to Get a Lightning Rod
To craft a Minecraft Lightning Rod, you simply have to stack three copper ingots together in the same shape. The only difficulty you may encounter is finding Copper Ore, but if you just look at some nearby cave entrances or dig around a bit, you should be able to find enough Copper Ore pretty easily. You can smelt them in a furnace to get the three Copper Ingots you need.
How to Use the Lightning Rod
The Minecraft Lightning Rod can protect your wooden house from lightning strikes, but it does more than that. Here are some of its other uses:
- Mobs should not transform into something more dangerous, such as villagers struck by lightning becoming witches.
- Place a villager in a tiny space with a Lightning Rod in the middle, and wait for it to be struck.
- By placing the Lightning Rod on top of the copper and hitting it, you can remove oxidation from copper blocks.
- As soon as the Lightning Rod is struck by lightning, it sends a redstone signal, so it can be used in a redstone circuit.
It only takes a few minutes to make a Minecraft Lightning Rod! All you need is Copper Ore!
