Minecraft Legends Portal Outpost – How to Beat It
The Minecraft Legends Nether Portal in the Night Beacon mission is the first real challenge of the campaign. It requires the player to break into the Piglin’s portal and stop the permanent night. In terms of defenses, the fortress outpost around the portal is the largest so far. There are, however, some more interactive mobs to play with, as classic Minecraft monsters have joined forces. This brings new tools and abilities to the table. Here’s how to destroy the Nether Portal in Minecraft Legends.
The Minecraft Legends Night Beacon Mission’s Nether Portal
The Nether Portal is heavily defended and it’s easy to get wiped out if you don’t pay attention, build up your forces, and play smart in Minecraft Legends.
Luckily, you now have three kinds of powerful mobs – Skeletons, which serve as long-range archers, Zombies, melee fighters that can take a lot of damage, and Creepers, who blow up to do massive damage and scare away survivors. Here are a few useful tips on how to handle their increased firepower and yours.
- Cross the bridge and destroy the Piglin pit.
- It’s impossible to stop Piglins from spawning, but you can thin their numbers.
- Destroy the main gate afterward.
- The outer wall must be broken at some point, as you can’t build on their terrain. Focus on destroying the gate.
- More reinforcements are needed at the starting point.
- Monsters slowly appear over time where you started, back over the bridge. Head there whenever you need more cannon fodder, as well as Mossy Golems to heal your forces.
- Directly to the Nether Portal.
- At this point, it’s just best to get rid of the portal because there’s no way to make this area safe due to the infinite enemies that it can produce.
- Minions nearby should be diverted.
- Your Creepers should attack the portal itself, while your Zombies and Skeletons should go after Piglin minions. The giant hog miniboss roaming the area should be taken down by Skeleton snipers.
- Keep your portal safe.
- As you melee enemies coming out of the Portal, you will need to thin them out and protect the mobs attacking the Portal. The game remembers the damage the portal took if you back off, get reinforcements, and come back.
Getting new reinforcements is key to your success, as Minecraft Legends does not emphasize that very well early on, and it’s easy to think your new friends are limited. Despite this, you shouldn’t have too much trouble at the end of the game given that you can get more, and the game remembers the damage you did to the Nether Portal.
The advice we’ve given here will still apply to other Nether Portals, but you won’t have infinite forces to rely on for those – you’ll need Spawners.
