The Galactic Marketplace: Your Ultimate Guide to Selling Items in Starfield

Selling stuff in Starfield is vital for getting lots of credits. Starfield can be a bit tricky with its unclear maps and menus. The “Value” stat on your items doesn’t really tell you how much you’ll get for them. But don’t worry, I can help you find where to sell items in Starfield easily.

How to Sell Items in Starfield

Selling stuff in Starfield is straightforward. Just find a vendor or shop owner and press “LB” to switch to the selling menu. You can also sell items directly from your ship’s cargo, so you don’t have to carry them around.

Finding vendors isn’t too hard once you know where to look. The easiest places to sell things are the green Trade Authority Kiosks at major spaceports where you land your ships. They’re usually near the exit to the landing pad or next to the ship technician.

You can also find stores with human vendors in major Starfield cities, sometimes more than one. For example, in New Atlantis on Jemison, head towards the UC Distribution Center or Outlander near the pool after fast traveling or getting off the tram. They buy and sell everything you need. Another option is Neon on Volii Alpha, especially the “Core” section, which is a bustling street full of shops.

Dealing with Vendors Running Out of Money

Sometimes, vendors might run out of money if you do too much business with them. They’ll still take your items but won’t give you any cash. You can help them get money back by buying things from them, but that won’t help if they don’t have what you want. If this happens, the best thing to do is find a nearby chair or bed and “wait” for twenty-four hours. Vendors restock their money every day, so just wait for the next day to do business again.
