The key to playing Wayfinder is finding your playstyle and adapting it to your chosen character. To reclaim your land, you must forge your own path and destroy the Gloom within. In a classic MMO fashion, you can explore and battle across foreign lands with friends and try to put an end to the chaos. Similarly to Apex Legends and Overwatch, each Wayfinder has its own unique abilities. What type of Build you aim to perfect depends on the type of player you intend to play. It doesn’t matter who you pick, though, players get the chance to not only play with other players across the globe, but also summon other Wayfinders (other than their own Class). What is the process of summoning?
Wayfinder: How to Craft Characters
At the moment, players can choose between 6 Wayfinders to play as in Wayfinder’s early access state. Aside from Niss, Silo, and Wingrave – which you choose at the beginning – three other Wayfinders can be obtained either by luck in a Pack or by leveling up and completing Expeditions (quests). Obviously, you are not restricted to the character you select at the start. The Beacon in Skylight allows players to summon another Wayfinder at any time within the game. The remaining Wayfinders you have unlocked will require Materials you need to find in order to craft the new character you need to speak with Omen about.
As well as highly specific and rare items such as Vestige of Kyros’s Sight and Vestige of Senja’s Storm, which can be obtained through Expeditions, each Wayfinder (character) requires a ton of Gold (10,000 in early access). These are items tailored specifically for summoning your chosen Wayfinder. You can also purchase these characters with Wayfinder Tokens, which are in-game currency used to bypass the quest for the character’s specific Crafting Materials, so that you can summon them immediately after purchase.
As soon as you have all Crafting Materials, go to Omen and select the Wayfinder you wish to switch to, then confirm your choice by holding the summon button.
Changing Wayfinders
It is not immediately apparent that your new Wayfinder character is equipped after summoning it. You will need to select Character from the menu. Click on your currently equipped Wayfinder at the top-left corner of the screen with your Wayfinder’s name and icon. The following is a list of all the Wayfinders that you have purchased or summoned through crafting. Throughout the game, you can switch out the Wayfinder and its weapons to suit your playstyle or create a new Build for tougher quests.
