It is important to note that for my fellow Americans who are unaware of what that means, 16:00 UTC equates to 9am PDT / 12pm EDT. It is set to release at the same time on September 6, the same day that Xbox players will be able to dive into Starfield for the first time.
It has been announced that those who purchase the digital deluxe version of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PlayStation 5 will also gain early access to the game’s first act, which will begin on September 2. In addition, you will be able to pre-load that as well, as of August 31 at 16:00 UTC (9am PDT / 12pm EDT). In their original announcement, the devs promised 72 hours of early access, but it looks like that has now been extended to 96 hours.
It had originally been scheduled for Baldur’s Gate 3 to launch simultaneously on PC and PlayStation 5 on August 31, but the PC version was brought forward to launch a month earlier, while the PS5 edition was pushed back to launch a week late. Despite the game’s massive file size, PC players did not receive pre-loads despite the game’s size, which resulted from the way the Early Access system on Steam works, which is a capital-E, capital-A system.
