My role in this gorgeous RPG will be to raise a family of adorable animals, and I can already tell someone is going to have to rein me in.
A new “open-ended RPG” from Millionhare Studios, Wish Upon A Llama challenges players to raise an array of adorable farm animals (including llamas, bunnies, geese, sheep, pigs, and fish) and get to know locals. The game may resemble Stardew Valley on the surface, but it offers some unique features we haven’t seen in your typical farming sim yet.
You don’t need us to tell you how pretty this game is, just check out the screenshots below (thanks, myPotatoGames!). This pastel color palette Millionhare Studios has given Wish Upon a Llama makes everything feel cozier and more magical. The animal sprites follow a similar color scheme to the rest of the game – pastel pink ducks, here we come!
According to Wish Upon a Llama’s Steam page, players will assume the role of a Rancher who cares for and befriends the farm’s animals. Each animal breed in the game has its own unique color, pattern, and personality, with babies inheriting their parents’ traits. In addition to naming them, you can also give them names so be prepared to run out pretty soon.
Also get to know the other residents of Llama Town, since they’ll make your time away from your animals just as entertaining. As the Steam page shows, the town has a diverse population who have their own stories to tell – as expected, you’ll make lots of friends and maybe even fall in love. Players can do this by challenging their new friends to jump rope, town cleaning, trivia, and spelling bees.
I can’t wait to play Wish Upon a Llama myself, but it doesn’t have a release window yet – so we may need to wait a while. Stay tuned for more updates on this game by wishlisting it on Steam.
