How to Find Dammon in Baldur’s Gate 3 and Bring Him Infernal Iron

There are three places where you can find Dammon in Baldur’s Gate 3. After you figure out what to do after the ship crashes in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll meet him in Emerald Grove. As you progress through Act 2 of the game, Dammon will appear later at the Last Light Inn before continuing his journey to Baldur’s Gate with the rest of the refugees.

It’s easy to miss Dammon, but he’s very important – especially if you’re trying to collect infernal iron to repair a Baldur’s Gate 3 companion. Here’s how to find Dammon, as well as some hidden infernal iron locations. Most of them are in chests.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Dammon locations

The first place where you will find Dammon in BG3 is Emerald Grove. Located in The Hollow section of the area, down the stairs just past the gnome trader and the Baldur’s Gate 3 Strange Ox. Dammon will remain here until either you raid Emerald Grove or kill all the goblins – and if you choose the former, you’ll end up killing him.

When Act 2 begins, and assuming that you spoke with Dammon earlier and didn’t side with BG3 drow commander Minathra, Dammon will be staying at the Last Light Inn in the Shadowlands with his fellow tiefling refugees. As you walk toward the inn, you’ll see him working at the Forge.

Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t have Dammon. Why is that?

It’s possible to lock yourself out of finding Dammon for quite some time because of the game’s branching storylines. Dammon may not be at the Last Light Inn if you haven’t spoken with him before dealing with Minathra and the other Goblin Leaders in Baldur’s Gate 3.

As we haven’t reached Baldur’s Gate yet, you may be able to find Dammon somewhere in Act 3 if he doesn’t show up in the Shadowlands.

How to get infernal iron in Baldur’s Gate 3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, infernal iron is necessary for repairing Karlach’s engine. It’s extremely rare, however, so you might be wondering how you can obtain some.

So far, we have found some infernal iron in two locations:

Blighted Village: Cast a fire spell on the calcified cobweb in the middle of the large room just to the right of the fast travel rune. You can open the chest in an enclave just on your right by jumping down the hole, climbing the ladder, and picking the lock. Inside the chest is the iron. Be careful not to touch the large gold-glowing chest on the ground, as it is rigged and will blow the ladder up.

Shattered Sanctum: Near where you killed Dror Ragzlin in the BG3 Goblin Camp, you can find a piece of infernal iron. Up the stairs to the left of his throne, use a lockpick to open the metal grate door at the back. Ragzlin’s treasures contain infernal iron.

At the moment, that is all we have available, but we will keep this guide updated as more pieces become available.
