There’s no doubt that Nintendo Switch is one of the biggest consoles of all time. Playing games on your smartphone or tablet is also possible with the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons.
Find out how to use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons on your iPhone or iPad.
Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons on iPhone: Why Would You Do That?
Use your existing Bluetooth controller instead of buying a new one to play iOS games. The best part is that you’re already comfortable with your controller, which saves you time and money.
Setting up Switch Joy-Cons on iPhones and iPads
Get iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 on your iPhone or iPad before you continue. As the Nintendo port wasn’t available until iOS 16, older iOS versions won’t work with Switch Joy-Cons.
Start by unlocking your Switch and going to Settings > Bluetooth > Turn on Bluetooth.
Next, detach your Switch Joy-Cons. Each Joy-Con needs to be paired and connected separately. There’s a small, circular button between the SL and SR buttons—the Sync button.
Your Switch Joy-Con will be searchable when you press and hold the Sync button. Bluetooth settings on your device will show Joy-Con (R). It’s just a matter of tapping on it to connect the Joy-Con.
Both Joy-Cons can be used simultaneously if you do the same for the other Joy-Con.
Use Nintendo Joy-Cons to Play iPhone Games
You don’t need to buy a proper game controller since Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons work with iPhones and iPads. The controller is supported by a lot of great iOS games, like Call of Duty and Roblox. You can play these games on your iPhone or iPad with Joy-Cons instead of the Switch.
