Blood Moon Essence: Where to Find It

Due to its evasive behavior, Blood Moon Essence are relatively harmless enemies. Essence balls emit a red glow as they emit light. During a Blood Moon, you will only be able to see these. Similar to summoning the Blood Moon in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will need to trick the game to release it. In the starter area titled Yaesha, this event would naturally occur after a period of time. Players can use the Fast Travel system to get there and back. It is in these dense forests that the Blood Moon Event takes place and the Essence that is required for farming is released.

The fastest way to peer inside Yaesha is to use the Fast Travel point. When the Blood Moon is present, you will be able to see the most obvious sign of the event in the sky – a literally bloodred moon. Fast Travel out of there and return again if it isn’t there. Repeat this until the Blood Moon appears. There should be 4 Essence flying around the forest when it does. If you have accuracy and precision, you should be able to shoot these down with a couple bullets in your magazine if you use a long-range weapon.

Upon obtaining the Essence, exit through the glowing doors that lead to the corresponding area. Fast Travel is not necessary here. Reenter the forest of Yaesha where the Blood Moon Event is still ongoing. It will reset the Essence in the area, allowing you to farm another 4. You can repeat this process until you have enough Essence for the Altar or 15 for the Summoner Archetype.
