Capture Points in Fortnite: How to Obtain Them

Fortnite Capture Points and Emotes

When you claim Fortnite Capture Points, you’ll be granted X-ray vision for a brief period of time so that you can see all chests and enemies in the surrounding area once your flag has been raised up the pole. In addition, you will be able to purchase high-quality weapons and items from the flagpole, which will set you up for the rest of the current Fortnite match.

For various Fortnite quests, you’ll need to take over areas or emote for five seconds while doing so. Listed below is where to find and how to claim Capture Points in Fortnite.

Fortnite Capture Point Locations

Fortnite Capture Points can be found at the following nine locations on the island:

  • Anvil Square
  • Breakwater Bay
  • Brutal Bastion
  • The Citadel
  • Faulty Splits
  • Frenzy Fields
  • Lonely Labs
  • Shattered Slabs
  • Slappy Shores

On the map above, you can identify Capture Points in Fortnite by spotting the tall flagpole surrounded by a glowing white circle.

Getting Fortnite Capture Points

When you approach one of the Fortnite Capture Points and enter the glowing ring encircling it, the glowing ring will turn from white to blue and the platform of flags will gradually rise up the pole, while a circle filling up around a flag icon indicates your progress toward claiming the Capture Point. As long as you stay within proximity, you can claim the Capture Point. However, if another player enters, your progress will be halted. After dealing with the threat, you can return to the flag and claim it from where you left off, dropping an emote along the way.

You will receive rare weapons, items, ammo, and mats as soon as you complete the progress bar and claim the Fortnite Capture Point. Flags will be replaced by your own banner. In the area highlighted in yellow after you claim it, all chests will be highlighted – handy if you are looking for Fortnite Oathbound Chests – while enemies will appear in red. You have control over the area surrounding the Capture Point as long as this effect is active.
