With a Ranged Weapon in Fortnite, You Can Destroy Jack-O’-Lanterns

Destroy Fortnite Jack-O’-Lanterns Here

You must locate those decorative Halloween squashes in Fortnite and shoot them with a gun in order to destroy jack-o’-lanterns with a ranged weapon. Though that’s the basic concept for this quest, it’s not quite that simple, since you still have to find those Fortnite jack-o’-lanterns and get your hands on one of the many ranged weapons before you can accomplish it.

Fortnite jack-o’-lanterns are just one of the many types of spooky decorations springing up around the island during Fortnitemares, though you’ll find them usually near residential properties’ front entrances. If you begin tracking them down, hitting them with your harvesting tool won’t do any good because it won’t count towards the quest, so here are all the steps you need to take to destroy jack-o’-lanterns with a ranged weapon.

Fortnite Jack-O’-Lantern Locations

In Fortnite, jack-o’-lanterns are usually found outside homes, along with other Halloween decorations, and we’ve marked all of them on the map above. There are several suggested routes you can take to destroy them since you need to destroy five of them:

  • Go to Shiny Sound twice, then to the three residences east of it
  • Start at Tilted Towers (x3) and then go east to Research Lab Minotaur (x2).
  • Begin at Fort Jonesy (x4), then travel southeast to Shrouded Settlement

During subsequent matches, you can destroy and register the same Fortnite jack-o’-lanterns you destroyed in the first match. You do not have to destroy every Fortnite jack-o’-lantern in a single match.

Ranged Fortnite Weapon to Destroy Pumpkins

Using anything that fires projectiles over a distance will help you destroy jack-o’-lanterns in Fortnite, so make sure you have a ranged weapon. This should work with assault rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, and pistols, and spooky Pumpkin Launcher rockets will also do the trick – though that’s much less subtle. With a ranged weapon, you can kill five jack-o’-lanterns and complete this Fortnitemares quest.
