At the end of June, The Callisto Protocol’s long-promised story DLC, Final Transmission, will be released.
“Final Transmission” is widely thought to be part of the game’s season pass, which promised to allow players to “dig deeper into the horrifying secrets of The Callisto Protocol” despite not being explicitly confirmed by Striking Distance Studios.
Striking Distance teased the heart-pounding final chapter of The Callisto Protocol on Twitter. On June 27, PlayStation users can play 48 hours early, followed by all other platforms on June 29.”
“This is a fantastic looking game that builds a great sci-fi world only to destroy it with an enjoyable combat challenge,” Leon said in GamesRadar+’s review of The Callisto Protocol.
Once I’d finished the game on default difficulty, I restarted it on the lower setting, and it’s so much more enjoyable,” he said.
It’s still a challenge, but it’s manageable, and it’s not as crushing as it used to be. It’s obvious that there’s a whole discourse on difficulty here, but I’ve reviewed the game as presented by the developers, knowing that many will resist changing the challenge.”
Also, The Callisto Protocol now has a New Game Plus mode. In NewGame+, users who have previously completed the game will have access to all weapons, upgrades, and Callisto Credits from the first Reforge.
A new achievement will also be available to players who complete a NG+ run, which should address the ongoing issue with obtaining the “Maximum Security Trophy.”
According to reports, only two million copies of the Callisto Protocol have been sold, compared to the five million expected by its publisher, Krafton, and investors. As a result, several investors have lowered their target stock prices for Krafton, with one claiming that it “will not be easy” to reach the game’s five million sales target given the game’s mixed reception and poor performance on PC.
