On one of Santuary’s continents, the map of Diablo 4 covers five regions, including the Fragmented Peaks, Kehjistan, and the Scoglen region. In all five regions of the game you will find winding paths, demonic foes to face off against, and plenty of dungeons to plunder in each region. In order to thwart Lilith’s plans, the main Diablo 4 quests will have you going all over the map to find new allies and foes while gaining access to towns, settlements, and fast travel options for meeting new allies and foes. You can check out a complete Diablo 4 map to help you find your way around the game.
Map of the Sanctuary in Diablo 4
It has been said that Diablo 4 is set in a world of Sanctuary which has five connected regions. Once you’ve reached the capital of Kyovashad and completed the prologue, you will be able to more or less freely explore the rest of the map once you’ve reached the frigid Fractured Peaks in the middle of the map. This interactive map from mapgenie proved to be very helpful if you are looking for an interactive map to keep track of your progress during your journey.
Map, Regions, and All of Sanctuary in Diablo 4
At first, it might seem tempting to explore areas beyond the Fractured Peaks to see what they have to offer, but do keep in mind that level restrictions will make certain areas within the regions more difficult at first because of level restrictions. There will always be an appropriate challenge to face in every location eventually, since it scales to your level anyway. Below you will find a list of the five regions of the world and some rough guidelines on what level you should be at when you enter any of them, although you will find that some areas may have lower levels or even significantly higher levels than others:
- Fractured Peaks: level 1+
- Scosglen: level 10+
- Dry Steppes: level 15+
- Kehjistan: level 20+
- Hawezar: level 35+
When you explore new areas within the regions, the fog surrounding the map gradually clears, and certain discoveries will remain visible on the map as long as you explore it. For example, dungeons, strongholds, waypoints for fast travel in Diablo 4, as well as vendors in towns and cities, are permanently marked. Altars of Lilith and cellars only appear on the map when you are nearby them in Diablo 4, as well as Altars of Lilith and cellars being marked on the map when you discover them.
A very important note about strongholds is that they are high-level areas compared to the rest of the region, and they will always remain two levels higher than your current level, even after you catch up to them. It makes them especially hard to get into a stronghold because of this, so be aware when you wander into one!
