Now that you’ve heard us loud and clear, it’s finally here…”
There’s good news for ghost hunters – Phasmophobia is finally available on consoles.
“Console early access” will launch on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in August, developer Kinetic Games revealed during the week.
This includes a PSVR2 release as well, to match the PC VR functionality.
The team teased, “We heard you loud and clear, and now it’s coming…”. This August, Phasmophobia will enter Early Access on Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation VR2.
The update explains that Phasmophobia will launch on consoles with the Progression 2.0 update, and will be updated regularly alongside the PC version with new content and bug fixes.
Reporting and player bans will work across all platforms, and we’ve added the ability to block other players, which will mute them indefinitely.
Finally, all platforms will feature optional crossplay, and players will be able to see which platforms their teammates are playing on by viewing their ID cards.”
In the coming weeks, ghost hunters should keep an eye out for a more detailed release date.
Haven’t played Phasmophobia just yet, but wondering if this is the right time to get involved? Learn how it turned a scaredy-cat into a fear junkie. Also, if you’re home alone and in the mood for tricks rather than treats, Phasmophobia now has a single-player mode.
With its Steam Early Access launch in 2020, Phasmophobia became wildly popular with streamers and horror fans, spawning a whole new subgenre of horror games. In order to keep up with the popularity of the ghost game, Kinetic Games changed and expanded their plans for future updates, including expanding the team.
When they announced a recruitment drive, they explained that despite the fact that they have been developing Phasmophobia on their own for the past few years, it is now time to expand.
