Bringing Humor Back To Outer Space Survival In Breathedge 2

There is now a sequel to Breathedge, an absurd survival game that features a space traveler and his immortal chicken.

At this year’s PC Gaming Show, there was a long segment of back-to-back trailers featuring the aptly named Breathedge 2. There is a narrative in which the protagonist runs haphazardly back and forth with what appears to be a wheel, trying to fix their stranded vehicle while avoiding fire-breaking aliens, who try to destroy it. After a series of blastoffs and explosions, the planet’s surface is ripped apart by a huge fault that had been ripped into it. There is no doubt that the sequel will retain the same sense of first-person galavanting (and questionable humor) that can be found in the original.

In addition to the fact that RedRuins Softworks announced the existence of the game on Steam, it hasn’t revealed anything more than that. On the other hand, judging from the brief snippets in the trailer, it appears as though Breathedge 2 will play in a similar manner to its predecessor.

First released in early access on Steam in 2018, Breathedge was officially released for PC in February 2021. Later that year, in April, it was released on consoles. It received mixed reviews from critics despite its amusing premise, questionable mechanics, and arguably unfunny humor. Subnautica, another critically acclaimed space survival game, was one of its biggest claims to fame.
