The Stormgate product is not quite ready for launch yet, but we expect it to be released in a couple of weeks. We are looking forward to your feedback. During the PC Gaming Show on Thursday, Frost Giant Games’ game director and president, Tim Campbell, was one of the guests who gave fans an update on the game’s progress and what the developers plan on doing in the near future in regards to the game.
It is according to Stormgate developers that their game can be viewed as an “updated version of the classic formula for real-time strategy games” and they see it as a spiritual successor to classic RTS games including Warcraft and Starcraft from the golden age of RTS gaming in general. As a real-time strategy company, it makes sense that Frost Giant Games is built on the expertise of real-time strategy veterans who have worked on multiple franchises of the same genre. Therefore, it makes sense that they would wish to enhance the formulas they are familiar with within the genre in order to improve the game they are already creating. One of the most important aspects of this strategy in my opinion is that newcomers to the genre will have a much lower barrier to entry than they will have if they enter from another genre.
A real-time strategy game is usually a game where the player manages the entire battlefield. This can either be accomplished by gathering resources on the battlefield or by commanding and controlling armies on the battlefield. As a beginner, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the many moving parts in the game, especially when it consists of a game like Minecraft Legends, which is a simpler RTS game but features many more moving parts. While Frost Giant hasn’t directly shown how the systems work, however, it intends to overcome the divide in the skill level of players that exist as a consequence of playing Stormgate so that everyone will be able to enjoy it.
It has been shown by Campbell that RTS genres are something that everyone should appreciate, regardless of whether they are experienced players or not. The genres of RTS can be enjoyed by players of all skill levels, says Campbell. As far as the Stormgate game is concerned, we have put a lot of effort into making sure that you are going to have a pleasant experience in order to give you a great experience, regardless of whether you are a pro with a high level of technical skills and are passionate about competitive play, or if you just want something that you can relax and enjoy.
