PS5 Railway Empire 2 – Locomotive Simulation Has Signal Problems

A new era of rail travel begins with Railway Empire 2 in 1830, when many competing rail companies wanted a slice of the pie and many discoveries changed the face of rail travel.

Game modes include campaign mode, scenario mode, free play mode, construction mode, and co-op multiplayer mode, which provide a different gaming experience. Each chapter has five tasks and a deadline, such as expanding a specific town’s population or connecting two distant cities.

The goal is to expand your railway as fast as possible against another railway mogul. While campaign mode has optional tasks, scenario mode has all of them mandatory. By completing the objectives, new regions are added. As opposed to campaign mode where you have only time as an opponent, scenario mode with constant soundbites reminds you that your competitor is always there.

The construction phase and business concepts remain difficult to comprehend, despite building the rail lines and placing stations. During gameplay, we crossed our fingers and bailed our breath as we tried to understand exporting and importing goods. Time isn’t on your side, and your competitors constantly remind you of their success if you overcomplicate these elements.

There are other modes that are less frenetic than the campaign and scenario modes. If the competitive options overwhelm you, there are plenty of other ways to play the game.
