Meta Quest 3 Launches Later This Year, Costs $500

It was announced earlier this year that the new Meta Quest 3 headset is to be launched later this year, according to an announcement that was made earlier this year. It is stated that the headset that Meta is developing is the “most powerful headset that the company has ever produced.”.

As has been stated by the company, the Quest 3 is going to have a 128GB of storage capacity when it is released later this year, and will be available in all the countries that Meta Quest is currently supported in, as well as being priced at $499 USD when it is released. There is limited information available about the headset in the early stages of marketing, however Mark Zuckerberg in a press release uses an enormous amount of hyperbole to describe the headset: “The first mainstream headset with high-resolution color mixed reality.” This new next-generation Qualcomm chipset has twice the graphics performance of its predecessor. It is also 40% thinner and more comfortable to use. It also has better displays and resolution. Moreover, it is 40% thinner and more comfortable to use.

According to a report on the official website, as part of the new features that Quest 3 is bringing, the optical profile has been slimmed by 40%, and the Touch Plus controllers have been redesigned to be more ergonomic, thereby making the game more enjoyable. Besides being compatible with Quest 2 games and apps, it will also be compatible with previous versions of Quest games and apps, which means that the device will work with all previous versions of Quest game apps. The Meta Connect event on September 27, which is supposed to give us a broader view of what the headset is capable of and how it will perform, should provide us with a clearer understanding of what we can expect from the headset when we arrive at the event.

It has been confirmed that, beginning on June 4, there is going to be a major price drop on the Quest 2 due to a major change in pricing for that game. The company has announced that they will have a 128 GB model as well as a 256 GB model in the line-up which will sell for $299 for the 128GB model and $349.99 for the 256GB model. Also, a new software update is expected to be released soon that will offer some major performance improvements for the existing headsets, including a 26% performance improvement for Quest 2 and a 11% performance improvement for Quest Pro, respectively, along with a 26% performance improvement for Quest 2 and a 19% performance improvement for Quest Pro.

It might seem a little hollow to some individuals that Meta has slashed the price of Quest 2 by $100, despite the price drop. This can be attributed to the fact that Meta just raised the price of Quest 2 last year by $100. Once again, there is at least some good news here, I would say, in that we are able to get the best Meta Quest 2 deals at a lower price once again, so at least there is some good news here, I guess.

This news comes just ahead of the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, which is scheduled to start later today, and which is just a few hours away. This will be one of the VR-focused stops on the E3 2023 schedule, so don’t forget to keep a lookout for it if you’re attending. Our list of the best VR headsets is undoubtedly dominated by the Meta Quest 2, which we believe is the most accessible option on the list – and here’s hoping that this is going to be the best follow-up to last year’s Quest 2.
