The Shockwave Hammer Has Returned to Fortnite
You can deal damage to opponents with the Shockwave Hammer melee weapon in this chapter. You can also bounce on it to travel long distances if you slam it into the ground and launch yourself. There is a cooling-off period attached to that second action, so you can’t keep using it indefinitely – especially now that the exploit has been fixed – but we have the details on where to find it.
The Fortnite Shockwave Hammer was temporarily removed from Fortnite due to a glitch discovered by players. Despite jumping over water, you could still use the hammer’s Shockwave Slam. Epic has resolved the issue, so the Shockwave Hammer is now available again.
Getting Fortnite Shockwave Hammer
As one of Fortnite’s most recent weapons and epic-rarity drops, the Fortnite Shockwave Hammer can be found in virtually any chest or loot dispenser, including the updated capture points that drop weapons when captured – or even on the ground! Due to its rarity, the item is more likely to drop from Oathbound Chests, which are large, white and gold chests. You can find these chests in medieval-themed places like:
- The Citadel
- Anvil Square
- Shattered Slabs
- Breakwater Bay
Check out our Fortnite Oathbound Chests guide for more information. Although we cannot guarantee that the Shockwave Hammer will drop at these locations, chances are high, so anyone determined to find one should go there. If a player already has one, you can always shoot him to get rid of it!
How to Use the Shockwave Hammer
Shockwave Hammers are similar to the now-vaulted Shockwave Grenade, but they deal 75 damage and throw opponents away. They do not deal huge damage, but they do throw opponents back greatly. This allows players to place enemies near gas lines or directly in sightlines, or just knock them off a cliff if they’re too close.
By pressing L2/LT/RMB depending on how the player is configured, they can launch themselves into the air using the secondary function of the hammer. With the Shockwave Hammer, you can cover long distances quickly. It’s an obvious move, but it makes you stand out from the crowd. You can also charge up a slam while vaulting upwards and landing with a bang!
