In Destiny 2 Parting the Veil, you’ll gain the Strand Aspect, Epochal Integration Hand Cannon, and learn more about Neomuna and the Veil. It’s no secret Destiny 2 Lightfall raised more questions than it answered, but this easy quest ties up a few loose story threads to clarify what the Veil is all about. As a reward for your efforts, Epochal Integration comes fully masterworked with a good array of perks, while Strand Aspects add some nice variety to each Subclass. To complete the Parting the Veil quest in Destiny 2, follow these steps.
Quest Guide for Destiny 2’s Parting the Veil
It is important to be aware of a few things before you begin “Parting the Veil”. Even though it launched with Season of the Deep, this is actually part of the Lightfall expansion, so you’ll need to own that to access it – it’s also a permanent addition, so it won’t disappear when Season of the Deep ends. In addition, you must have completed the Lightfall campaign and the Destiny 2 Unfinished Business quest. To get your rewards, you need to speak with Nimbus and then complete the following steps:
- Defeat Cabal on Neomuna and collect Vex tracking data: Gilded Precept and Hydroponics Delta Lost Sectors are good places to find Cabal. Cabal occasionally drops tracking data items, so kill them and collect them.
- Acquire Vex data from Maya’s Retreat: Enter Maya’s Retreat, just off Liming Harbor, as if you were doing the HyperNet Current Strike. You’ll eventually reach a Vex tower surrounded by three shielded Harpies. Remove the Harpies’ shields by defeating the waves of Vex enemies. To get the data, interact with the Vex tower once all three Harpies have been killed.
- Acquire additional data at the Irkalla Complex: Proceed through Esi Terminal from Zephyr Concourse. Destiny 2 Desperate Measures’ big battle takes place on the complex exterior after you’ve taken the portal there. The procedure for capturing the data will be the same as before as you will find another Vex tower.
- Complete the mission “Parting the Veil”: You can start the mission outside the complex by clicking on the banner. It’s a straightforward mission with just some fighting and interacting with the terminal in Veil’s facility. If you’re going to fight the boss, I highly recommend using a Strand Subclass with Grapple!
- Meditate on your findings: Go to the Pouka Pond and collect Osiris’s gift: an Epochal Integration Hand Cannon – this legendary solar weapon is fully masterworked and offers a variety of perks.
- Unlock the new Strand Aspect: Finally, open the Strand Aspects page in the Pouka Pond and unlock the new Aspect for free – no Strand Meditations required!
To unlock the rewards on all your characters, you only need to complete this quest once. In addition, you can unlock the new Strand Aspects for every Destiny 2 Class for free by pulling Epochal Integration from your Collections.
Now that you have completed the quest, you have the ability to access the “Veil Containment” mission on Neomuna – this takes you to the Veil Containment facility where audio logs can be listened to. According to a tweet from Bungie’s senior narrative designer Robert Brookes, this is just the first quest in a series. We will most likely be playing this mission weekly in order to uncover new discoveries about the Veil with Osiris and Nimbus, but I do not expect many other rewards to be unlocked. Hopefully, we’ll soon get some interesting answers about the Veil.
