HROT’s Best Weapons

HROT is a retro-style FPS game in which the player plays as a citizen of a socialist country neighboring the Soviet Union. HROT takes place in 1986 after an unspecified disaster has left the player trapped in an underground bunker; the atmosphere is borderline apocalyptic, and you’ll likely remember it long after you’ve completed it.

Free-roaming enemies are plentiful in HROT, as they are in most FPS games. Despite HROT’s hefty arsenal of weapons, not all of them are winners, and some are more useful than others. Here is a complete list of all the best weapons in HROT!

In HROT, All the Best Weapons Are Available

It’s not all weapons that will win in HROT, although there’s no shortage of them. Below is a list of all the best weapons in the entire game:

Hussite Hand Cannon

Hussite Hand Cannons may not be the most efficient in terms of fuel and ammunition, but I’ll be damned if they don’t hit hard. The Grenade can be used as ammunition for this long-range explosive weapon, which can destroy almost any enemy in just one shot.

Grenades launched by the Hussite Hand Cannon explode upon impact, damaging literally everything they strike. In addition to taking out large groups of enemies at once, this weapon also heavily damages everything within the blast radius!

The Hussite Hand Cannon in HROT has the following overall stats:

  • Direct Damage: 156 – 187
  • Indirect Damage: 75 – 89
  • Rate of Fire (RoF): 60 Rounds per minute
  • Max Ammo: 30

Lightning Gun

One of HROT’s few electric weapons is the Lightning Gun, as its name implies. When triggered, this kickass weapon creates a chain-lightning effect, which makes it particularly useful against groups of enemies.

This weapon is considered to be one of the best weapons in HROT because it deals a large amount of damage to several enemies at once. However, it runs out of power relatively quickly, and the electricity it produces can be somewhat slow to reach its destination.

In HROT, the Lightning Gun has the following overall stats:

  • Damage: 200 – 250 dps
  • Rate of Fire (RoF): 1,800 Rounds per minute
  • Max Ammo: 500

Hussite Crossbow

In HROT, the Hussite Crossbow is the only projectile weapon that is not explosive. This might make you think that HROT’s explosive projectile weapons, like the Hussite Hand Cannon, are less valuable, but you’d be wrong!

The Hussite Crossbow is a silent, practical, and extremely lethal weapon. In HROT, its projectile arrows can travel long distances and inflict insane amounts of damage on enemies, making it the perfect weapon for snipers.

In HROT, the Hussite Crossbow has the following overall stats:

  • Damage: 65 – 110
  • Rate of Fire (RoF): 50 Shots per minute
  • Max Ammo: 30

Land Mine

This is one of HROT’s most innovative weapons, even though it’s not a handheld weapon like the other entries on this list. HROT’s Land Mine is another highly explosive weapon, like its Hussite Hand Cannon.

As soon as a Land Mine is activated, it explodes when stepped on, shot at, or approached close enough. In addition to destroying everything in their vicinity, their explosions have a massive blast radius, making them perfect for taking out enemy hoards from a distance.

Here are the overall weapon stats for the Land Mine in HROT:

  • Damage: 75 – 89
  • Rate of Fire (RoF): ~2.14 Land Mines per second
  • Max Ammo: 6

Sickle

Just hear me out for a second before you start complaining about HROT’s weak-ass Sickle being included on this list. For those who dislike hunting for ammo, the Sickle is the best choice (apart from the player’s kick attack).

It may not be very effective against most of HROT’s enemies, but it is very effective against objects that hinder your progress. With the Sickle, you can smash just about anything without worrying about it breaking or running out of ammunition!

Despite not being a primary weapon choice, the Sickle is still an extremely useful tool that you should always carry around with you. Bats and rats are annoying, but not deadly, and you never know when you’ll have to smash them.

HROT’s Sickle weapon stats are as follows:

  • Damage: 15 – 22
  • Rate of Fire (RoF): 4.6 Hits per second

How Many Episodes are in HROT?

HROT consists of large groups of episodes with multiple levels. HROT currently has only one playable episode with eight levels. There is currently only one episode in HROT, but the developers have assured players that there will be more to come!

There is currently a second episode in development that already includes three levels; it is unknown when the other levels will be released, but given the game’s history, it shouldn’t take too long. The names of all of HROT’s episodes, including those currently in development, are as follows:

  • Kiss Me Gustav – In an apocalyptic Prague, the player emerges from an underground bunker.
  • The Degustation – Players navigate and explore Prague’s abandoned industrial facilities and castles.
  • The Gastroscopy – Soon to be released!

HROT may not have as many episodes and levels as you’d like, but you can rest assured there will be more!
