Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Exploit for Duplicating Weapons and Materials

The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom duplication glitch allows you to replicate any item in your inventory. This guide covers two variations of the glitch—one for duplicating materials and another for duplicating holdable items. The process involves attaching items to arrows, dropping them, and quickly navigating through menus. Although it requires precise timing, executing the glitch correctly will result in having two copies of the desired item when you check your inventory.

While it may be time-consuming, utilizing duplication glitches can turn your Zelda Tears of the Kingdom experience into a lucrative rupee-gathering spree. You can sell valuable ores and still have an abundance of them to offer the armor-strengthening Great Fairies in the game, as long as you are willing to tolerate the trial-and-error nature of performing the glitch.

In addition to the material duplication glitch, this guide also covers duplicating any weapon or shield. This method is particularly useful if you’re struggling with weapon durability in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, as it allows you to duplicate powerful weapons and save them for boss fights. If you’re tired of searching extensively and want to achieve immediate results, follow the step-by-step instructions provided in this guide for executing the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom duplication glitch for both materials and weapons.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Duplication Glitch Instructions

Here are the dupe glitches I’ll be covering in this guide:

  • Materials dupe glitch using bows
  • Weapons and shields dupe glitch using a manual save

How to Duplicate Materials in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To perform the Tears of the Kingdom duplication glitch for materials, make sure you have two Zelda Tears of the Kingdom bows and at least one unit of the material you want to duplicate. Once you’re prepared, follow these instructions:

1. Equip a Bow and Attach a Material

Start by equipping any bow in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Press the ZR button to aim, then use the up button on the D-pad to scroll through your inventory until you locate the material you wish to duplicate. For example, let’s say you want to duplicate an Octorok Tentacle. Without using the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Fuse ability, attach the material to your arrow by selecting it. It’s important to note that you should not use the Fuse ability at this point; simply attach the material and release the arrow.

2. Open the Pause Menu and Drop the Equipped Bow

With the material now attached to your bow, press the + button to pause the game. Navigate to the Bows and Arrows section in your inventory, select the bow that is currently equipped, and press the A button. From the options that appear, choose to drop the bow. It’s crucial not to select “Remove” since that will only unequip the bow without dropping it.

3. Equip Another Bow, and Then Quickly Pause and Unpause

Proceed by selecting another bow to equip, and immediately press the + button twice rapidly. This step requires quick timing, as you need to unpause and pause the menu as swiftly as possible.

4. Drop the Second Bow, Unpause, and Pick Both Bows Back Up Again

Next, drop the second bow by selecting it in the Bows and Arrows inventory and choosing to drop it. Then, unpause the game and promptly pick up both bows again. If the glitch is successful, you should now have a duplicate item of the one you attached to the first bow. If it doesn’t work, try again and focus on pausing and unpausing as rapidly as you can. There is no limit to how many of each material you can possess, so this glitch allows for infinite duplication of materials in your Zelda Tears of the Kingdom inventory.

How to Duplicate Weapons or Shields in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Now, let’s explore how to duplicate weapons or shields in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. To duplicate a weapon or shield, you must already have the desired item in your inventory. This method involves manual saves and is slightly more intricate than the bow and arrow glitch, but it still relies on the quick pause-unpause maneuver.

1. Equip the Item to Duplicate

To initiate the weapons duplication glitch, ensure that you have a minimum of two weapons in your inventory. The first weapon you choose should be the item you want to duplicate, while the second weapon acts as a placeholder. Press the + button to access your weapon inventory, or shield inventory if you intend to duplicate a shield, and equip the target item.

2. Save, Drop the First Weapon, and Equip a New One

With the target weapon equipped, briefly unpause the game by pressing the B button, and then immediately pause again using the + button. Navigate through the pause screen until you reach the System menu and proceed to save your game. It is crucial to briefly unpause before accessing the System menu for the save, as the glitch will not work otherwise.

While the save menu is still open, return to the weapon or shield inventory screen. Drop the first weapon you want to duplicate, and then select another weapon from your inventory. For example, if you wish to duplicate the Black Moblin Hammer, drop it from your inventory and equip a different melee weapon instead.

Please note that the continuation of the steps for the weapons duplication glitch was cut off. If you would like the remaining steps, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to provide them.

3. Quickly Press + Twice, Drop the Weapon, Then Load Your Save

In a similar manner to the bow method, rapidly pause and unpause the game. Subsequently, release the weapon, navigate through the pause menus to the System menu, and select the save file you recently made. Take caution not to save again, as it will result in the loss of your desired item!

Once your save is loaded, you will find one duplicate of your desired weapon lying on the ground while the other remains in your inventory. Mastering this glitch might require some practice, so it is recommended to attempt duplicating less valuable weapons or shields initially to familiarize yourself with the timing.
