With three maps to play on in the Outlast Trials, players are wondering what that mysterious fourth Classified Program might be. In light of its name, Program X, what could be in store for Murkoff’s patients? In video games, respawning is a reality, so you’ve survived so much already that you’ve lost sight of who you were when you started out. Do you really want to see what is behind the Classified stamp after seeing so much or taking so many photos yourself? Here is a guide on how to unlock Program X in The Outlast Trials.
In The Outlast Trials, what is Program X?
Murkoff Facility Program is offering a Classified Trial called Program X. Classified Trials are not available to those just starting the game, unlike Trials 1-3. There are several reasons for this, including its increased difficulty compared to the other programs. Although you have the option of playing on 3 different Maps that are always available, offering a variety of Assignments, challenging challenges, and replayability with an increase in difficulty as you progress through the Program, the Classified Program, ‘X’ will not become available to you until much later in the game.
This program offers a more challenging challenge than the rest, putting everything you have learned and your new Perks to the test. Season 1 will be the last season for this program, so it will be replaced with another. As compared to previous programs (Police Station, Fun Park, and Orphanage), this one offers the hardest challenges. Players will complete challenges and trials, as well as a Final Exam. By having players complete trials on different maps back-to-back, this program keeps things fresh, interesting, and mixes up the horror. Program X serves as the final stage of The Outlast Trials as of May, 2023, but it also acts as a good way to earn Release Tokens.
Unlocking Program X
It can be difficult to know what to do to unlock the hidden fourth Map when you are just beginning the game, as Program X is locked. You must however complete the 3 Trials in the game: Police Station, Fun Park, and Orphanage. Having completed every Assignment and difficulty set on each Map is what we mean by completion. Following your completion of each Map, you will need to take the Final Exam that puts everything you have learned to the test. Upon completing this, you will receive another Release Token by entering Program X. In order to see the Outlast Trials’ ending, you will need 10 Release Tokens.
It is highly recommended that players repeatedly complete the Final Exam to unlock the Release Token rewards and then use Program X to obtain the final Token so that you can view the Ending immediately.
