Bloober Team and Anshar Studio are rumored to be working on a Layers of Fear remake that will receive a PC demo next week that will allow players to see the opening cinematic (which you can see above in the video) and play around a bit from the beginning of the project.
In addition to the PC demo, there will also be a multiplayer demo available starting May 15th at 8am Pacific Time / 11am Eastern Time / 4pm British Time , and the multiplayer demo will run until May 22nd at 3pm Pacific Time / 6pm Eastern Time / 11pm British Time. The Bloober Team has specifically stated that the demo will only include “the first few minutes of the game,” so you should be able to spend as much time playing through the entire demo as you desire.
There will also be a Layers of Fear livestream that will be premiering at the same time, featuring creative director Damian Kocurek and Bloober Team PR manager Laura Bernaś. In this stream, you will get an exclusive look into the game with insights from the Creative Director himself and also get a chance to ask him questions.
A PC demo of the Layers of Fear reimagining developed by Bloober Team and Anshar Studio will be available next week, allowing you to see the opening cinematic (which you can check out just above) and to take part in a little bit of gameplay from the game’s beginning.
A PC demo of Layers of Fear will be available starting at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST /Sunday May 15 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 2pm BST /Sunday May 22 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm BST until May 23 at 4pm PT / 6pm ET / 8am BST. You should have plenty of time to play through the demo, especially since Bloober Team specifically stated that the demo will contain only the first few minutes of the game, so it should provide an excellent overview of the game.
Layers of Fear features the creative director of the Bloober Team Damian Kocurek and Bloober Team public relations manager Laura Berna at the same time as a livestream, which will debut at the same time. It is said that the stream will provide an “exclusive look” at the game and insight from the Creative Director himself about what the game holds.
Considering that the 2023 Layers of Fear is titled exactly the same as the original 2016 cult-classic horror game, it is important to clarify just as quickly that the game is actually a reimagining of the first two games in the series, not to mention all downloadable content included, built in Unreal Engine 5. Having described the original game as “one of the best horror games ever made,” you can be assured that we are excited about playing the definitive version of the game, despite the fact that the sequel was generally not as well received as the original game.
It has not yet been announced what the release date of Layers of Fear will be, but it is still scheduled for June 2023, which is more than a year away. The Bloober Team recently published a report about how the game is in what they call its “final stretch of development,” so hopefully this is true at the time of publication.
