Connecting your PS5 to hotel WiFi
It’s easy to connect your PS5 to your hotel Wi-Fi, and your PS4 to hotel Wi-Fi too with a few workarounds. Authenticating your browser is the most common problem you can run into when using hotel Wi-Fi. PlayStations can’t connect to hotel Wi-Fi on the first try because you have to authenticate first. The PlayStation browser isn’t authenticated by default, but there’s a way to do it.
Any time you’ve used hotel Wi-Fi before, you’ve authenticated it via a browser on your phone or laptop. With these devices, you just have to enter the password because the browser usually pops up by itself. PS5s don’t have an automatic browser, so the browser won’t pop up. You’ll have to look for it on your own.
The two main ways to find this elusive browser on your PS5 are to connect to hotel Wi-Fi. One method lets you authenticate your hotel Wi-Fi through your phone, while the other lets you open a browser from your PS5.
What you’ll need to do to connect to hotel Wi-Fi on the PS5
That’s the easiest method and no gadgets are needed. It’s easy:
- Click the gear icon to open your PS5’s settings.
- Go to the Network settings.
- You can connect to the internet by pressing Settings.
- Find the Wi-Fi at your hotel from the list.
- In the main settings of your PS5, select User’s Guide, Health and Safety, and Other Information once the connection fails.
- Go to the User’s Guide.
When this happens, your PS5 will open a browser where you can enter the password and accept any terms and conditions. You can also authenticate the Wi-Fi by connecting your phone to your PS5 if this method doesn’t work.
The best way to connect your PS5 to hotel Wi-Fi
The same steps apply until the connection fails when you use your phone to connect your PS5. Follow these steps instead of looking at the User’s Guide:
- Select How to Authenticate when your connection fails.
- Connect your phone to the PS5. You’ll get a passcode from the PS5.
- Find your PS5’s Wi-Fi connection on your phone. The code will begin with PS5 followed by three numbers specific to your console.
- Enter your eight-digit passcode on your PS5 using your phone. Afterwards, you’ll be able to log in to your hotel’s Wi-Fi through your phone’s browser.
- You can browse the web on your PS5 once you’ve logged into your hotel’s Wi-Fi through your phone.
