Nitro Drifter Destruction in Fortnite
Nitro Drifters are one of the latest additions to Fortnite’s battle royale, and while they may look like futuristic cars with neon accents, there’s more to them than meets the eye. They are able to drift, so you can slide them around corners at high speed while looking cool while doing so. A Nitro Drifter is an early part of the season’s quest, so you’ll have to destroy objects while drifting or boosting in it to complete one. It’s important to get behind the wheel before you can do that, so here’s where to find Nitro Drifters and how to drive them in Fortnite.
Fortnite Nitro Drifters Location
Fortnite Nitro Drifters can only be found in the southeast half of the map, mainly in the new futuristic biome, though the grass biome runs through the middle of the island as well. Our map above shows the starting locations of these neon vehicles, so you should visit the following places if you want to find one of them:
- MEGA City
- Drift Ridge (north of MEGA City)
- Slappy Shores
- Steamy Springs
Nitro Drifters may not spawn in all of the above locations in every match in Fortnite, and if other players drive them away first, they won’t be found in their starting positions, so choose areas with a high concentration of markers to improve your chances.
How to Drive Fortnite Nitro Drifters
Fortnite Nitro Drifters are controlled similarly to the previous cars, with shoulder triggers or the left stick to accelerate and brake. The major difference is that by holding the left shoulder button the car will drift, which enables you to slide around corners sideways while maintaining much of your speed. If you hold this button for a couple of seconds before releasing it, you’ll also receive a brief boost to shoot you forward – just make sure you don’t oversteer and drive into a wall!
