Keycards for Fortnite Vaults
Fortnite vaults provide a handy cache of mythic weapons, Slurp Juice, and more. However, to open them you need a Vault Keycard – otherwise, they remain firmly locked with you stuck outside. The Fortnite quests in Week 4 require you to open a vault using a Vault Keycard, which is unlikely to be found lying around unless you’re very lucky. Using a keycard to open Fortnite vaults is the actual method you need to follow.
Fortnite Vault Locations
Three Fortnite vaults can be found in three named locations, which will appear on the map once the first storm eye shrinking phase is complete. They can be found at the following locations:
- Brutal Bastion – on the north side of the courtyard corridor
- Shattered Slabs – under the hill on the northwest side of the cavern.
- Mega City – river level beneath the street on the northeast side
With a Vault Keycard, you can project a dotted line directly to the nearest Fortnite Vault, which you can then follow to reach it. When you run into an opponent on your way, be prepared to switch back to a weapon immediately or you might lose your chance to grab that sweet loot.
Fortnite Vault Keycard Method
When you defeat a Fortnite Highcard Boss, you’ll receive a Vault Keycard which can be used to unlock vaults. You don’t need to travel far to find these bosses because they spawn close to the vaults. Once Highcard is eliminated, grab the Vault Keycard and head to the closest vault, where you can open a vault with the Vault Keycard. To boost your chances of winning the Victory Royale, you’ll find rare chests, mythic weapons, Slurp Juice, and more inside.
If another player takes out Highcard before you, everything is not necessarily lost! A key icon will be displayed on the map to indicate where the Vault Keycard currently is, so if you track that down you can eliminate the opponent and steal it from them, then use it to open the vault and claim your loot.
