Sons of the Forest Cheat Codes and Console Commands and their Effects

You can modify Sons of the Forest, become immortal, spawn items, and much more with cheats and console commands (although spawning items requires a number of Sons of the Forest item IDs). Despite the fact that cheating in Sons of the Forest is not particularly extensive without outside assistance, we can still explain what cheats and console commands in the game do and how to use them.

Sons Of The Forest Cheats

There are no official cheats for Sons of the Forest. If you want to change things in a single-player, you’ll need to download a cheats mod, which we’ll explain below. There are a few cheat-like options in the Gameplay menu right now, but they may change in the future since the game is still in early access.

You can turn off Structure Damage as a first option, which means you can shut yourself off from the cannibals, and they will be unable to get to you. The second option in the Gameplay menu is a fun cheat, as you can turn on Sons of the Forest big head mode. It’s useful if you do not like the combat or do not feel appropriately equipped to fight back just yet. Kelvin, Virginia, and the cannibals will have big heads – they will not only look amusing, but they will also be easier to spot from afar.

Console Commands

You can enter Sons of the Forest console commands on multiplayer servers – but you’ll need admin rights to do so. Hit Enter to bring up the chat window, then type in the commands below:

  • allowCheats [on/off] –  Allows you to use console commands and cheats.
  • /help – Display a list of console commands.
  • /allowbuildingdestruction – Allows you to destroy structures.
  • resetHolesMode [on/off] – Remove all holes in structures when enabled.
  • /treeregrowmode – 10% of cut-down trees regrow when players sleep.

  • realisticPlayerDamage [on/off] – Players will take more damage when enabled, particularly in PvP.
  • /save [1/2/3/4/5] – Save the game in the designated slot.
  • saveFolderPath – Select the path for server saves.

  • targetFpsIdle [FPS] – Set a specific FPS limit for idle players.

Despite not being officially included in the game, Sons of the Forest cheats can be used to add these features. The complete set of cheats listed below is already available as a free download from WeMod and while they also offer pro subscriptions to unlock additional functionality, you do not need to pay anything to access them. Because Sons of the Forest is in early access and this mod has been developed externally, you may encounter crashes or unexpected consequences when using these cheats. If detected, you will be banned from the servers if you use them in multiplayer.
