Obtaining the M13B assault rifle in Warzone 2’s DMZ requires defeating the boss, which is challenging as you must locate and defeat the boss before extracting with the gun. Although the stages involved can be difficult, the M13B is a top-tier assault rifle in the game, and unlocking it will allow you to use it in all modes associated with the game. To assist you in finding and defeating the DMZ Chemist boss and acquiring the M13B assault rifle in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, we provide a guide. Additionally, we offer some general tips for Warzone 2 DMZ to improve your overall gameplay experience.
1. Make sure you’re prepared before you start
To make the task easier, it is advisable to arrive prepared with a long-range rifle, a 3-plate armor vest, and two teammates. Although it is possible to defeat the Chemist alone, it will be more challenging. Along the way to the radiation zone, it’s recommended to gather the necessary equipment. Additionally, having a UAV and gas mask is crucial for success.
2. Locate radiation zones to start the search
Upon spawning, access the map to locate the radiation zone, which is represented by a yellow circle containing a pink hazmat symbol. The radiation zone’s position varies in each match, and it’s usually situated far from your starting location. Thus, be ready for an extended travel time.
Next, it’s advisable to board the nearest vehicle to reach the destination quickly. The optimal choice is the large cargo truck, as it provides ample protection during the journey to the radiation zone.
3. Drive around radiation zones to locate the Chemist
As expected, driving into the radiation zone causes slow damage, similar to being in the gas in a normal battle royale. However, you can find gas masks scattered throughout the radiation zone, and on occasion, you may come across durable gas masks that have longer-lasting effects.
Upon arrival, it’s recommended to survey the zone’s interior to gain an understanding of the surroundings. There may be various buildings and hideouts for opponents, so proceed with caution.
Your primary objective is to locate the Chemist, an AI character who wears a yellow hazmat suit. His spawning location varies in each match, so it may take some time to find him. Fortunately, the bright yellow suit makes him easy to spot.
4. How to defeat the Chemist in DMZ
To find the Chemist, it is recommended to search inside the radiation zone by checking each building while trying to eliminate any enemies first. If the Chemist is not found, it is advised to leave the zone to recover before proceeding to the next building and repeating the process. Driving a vehicle inside the radiation zone can also be an option, but it is risky as enemies can easily destroy the vehicle.
Once the Chemist is located, there are different ways to defeat him. Although he has more health than a regular enemy, he is not as powerful as a Juggernaut. If the Chemist is outside, running him over with a vehicle is a quick way to take him down. However, if he is inside a building, a different approach is needed. Using explosives, such as grenades and regular weapons, can effectively damage and defeat the Chemist. It is crucial to clear out as many enemies as possible to avoid distractions and focus on the Chemist.
5. Exfil with M13B
After defeating the Chemist, it is advised to grab the M13B and a gas mask (if necessary) from his body, and locate the nearest Exfil location. To find it on the map, look for the icon of a blue person running through a door. Then, try to reach the nearest vehicle while being cautious to avoid getting attacked and losing the M13B. It is recommended to play it safe at this stage to avoid having to start over again if eliminated.
Once reaching the Exfil zone, call for the helicopter and try to hide nearby to avoid being attacked while waiting. It is important to note that only the player who picked up the M13B will receive credit for unlocking it. Therefore, if playing with a team, each player must obtain the M13B individually to unlock it for themselves.
Once the helicopter arrives, board it safely and if you successfully extract without being eliminated, the M13B assault rifle will be unlocked for you.
