To successfully finish the Bandit Challenges in Red Dead Redemption 2, you’ll have to rely heavily on your inner outlaw instincts as it is impossible to achieve the objectives without breaking the law. Whether you’re robbing stores, coaches, or holding up innocent people in towns, it’s obvious that embracing lawlessness is the only way to progress. The challenges must be completed in order, so you can’t skip ahead to the ones you like. However, if you follow our guide, you can become a top outlaw and earn the respect of your gang.
Bandit 1 – Hold Up 5 Townsfolk
If you’re looking to complete this challenge, Valentine or Strawberry are the best towns to do so, as they have less law enforcement and are less vigilant than bigger cities like Saint Denis and Blackwater. To hold someone up, point your gun at them and press the Rob button. If necessary, threaten or beat them until they surrender their money. It’s important to wear a mask to avoid being easily identified.
Bandit 2 – Rob Any 2 Coaches or Return Any 2 Stolen Coaches to the Fence
Fences are illicit merchants in Red Dead Redemption 2, and the first one can be located at Emerald Station, situated east of Valentine. You can bring any stolen coaches to the stable of the fence to earn some quick money. To complete the challenge, either hijack coaches from travelers on the road and bring them to the fence or rob the lockboxes on the backs of lavish carriages.
Bandit 3 – Rob the Cash Register in Any 4 Shops in One Day
To complete this challenge, you have to rob cash registers in the general store, doctors, and gunsmith in Valentine. Aim your weapon at the cashier and press the rob button to execute the theft. For the fourth checkpoint on this challenge, you have to travel to Strawberry. Start the challenge in the morning as soon as the shops open to ensure that you don’t run out of time, and get to robbing.
Bandit 4 – Rob Any 3 Coaches or Return Any 3 Stolen Coaches to the Fence in a Day
The challenge is similar to Bandit 2 but with a time constraint. Hold up the paths leading in and out of Emerald City for more efficient coach robberies, which can then be brought back to the fence promptly and discreetly.
Bandit 5 – Amass $250 Bounty in One State
If you’ve been attempting the Bandit Challenges in the same region, then you must have already amassed a significant bounty on your head. The strategy is uncomplicated; continue committing as many unlawful acts as possible without paying off your bounty until the reward for capturing you, dead or alive, reaches $250.
Bandit 6 – Steal 5 Horses and Sell Them to the Horse Fence at Clemens Cove
Clemens Cove is located a short distance northwest of Rhodes on the Red Dead Redemption 2 map. The horse fence presents there will purchase illegally acquired horses from Arthur at a reasonable rate. To finish this challenge, you have to find and steal five horses either from riders and carriages on the trail or from any stables in town.
Bandit 7 – Rob $50 Worth of Cash and Valuables From Townsfolk and Travellers
This challenge is essentially identical to the first Bandit challenge, in which you have to rob and steal money from passers-by until you accumulate $50. Focus on targeting individuals who appear less suspicious (i.e., those who do not appear to be cowboys) for a higher chance of receiving cash rather than being confronted with a gun, and aim for those who are better dressed (i.e., wealthier), preferably in Saint Denis, for a greater probability of obtaining more money.
Bandit 8 – Steal 7 Wagons and Sell Them to the Fence at Emerald Ranch
Once again, this challenge is comparable to Bandit Challenge 2, but this time, you have to target wagons instead of coaches, which can be sold at Emerald Ranch’s Fence. You can locate these wagons on the roads in Red Dead Redemption 2, but it’s simpler to stay near Emerald Ranch to reduce the distance required to transport them back.
Bandit 9 – Hogtie Someone and Leave Them on the Railroad 3 Times
To hogtie someone, you must first aim your lasso at them from a close distance and pull them in. Then, press the hogtie button to restrain them. Once they are subdued, you can pick them up, place them on your horse, and transport them to the nearest railroad tracks. Then, all you have to do is wait for a train to arrive.
Bandit 10 – Complete 5 Train Robberies Without Dying or Being Caught
To rob a train, board it and point your gun at any of its passengers or guards, then press the rob button. The simplest method to locate a train is to purchase a ticket at a nearby station, which will cause a train to appear magically via the fast travel system. However, it is best to wait until the train is moving and away from civilization to lower the risk of being killed or captured.
