Getting the unlocking spell and upgrading it will require you to find demiguise moons.
Obtaining the level 1 unlocking spell Alohomora by finding Hogwarts Legacy demiguise statues will earn you the level 2 and 3 versions of the spell. If you’ve been annoyed by the level 1 locks you can’t open, this magic is useful. Often, these things are only accessible at night, and in restricted areas or behind locked doors.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll find demiguise statues when you unlock The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament and meet Gladwyn Moon, the Hogwarts caretaker. You will learn the Alohomora spell as part of the mission to unlock Hogwarts Legacy Level 1. For nine additional moons and again for 13, Gladwyn will upgrade your unlocking ability. The easiest demiguise statues in Hogwarts Legacy are below.
Locations of the Hogwarts Legacy demiguise statues
You can get five moons straight away in the castle after collecting those first moons for Gladwyn. Therefore, you don’t need to hop on your Hogwarts Legacy broomstick to find more. The map must be at night, so select the option to change the time:
- Out-of-service toilets in the South Wing: The prefect’s bathroom is locked with an out-of-order sign on the doorknob after entering Gryffindor Tower from the Defense Against the Dark Arts block. To open it, cast Alohomora, and go through the middle cubicle to find a demiguise.
- Study of Muggles: In the bell tower courtyard, you can find one of Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian key locations in the History of Magic classroom. Open the locked door to the Muggle Studies classroom just in front of the classroom, past the sleeping dragon statue.
- Classroom Divination: The moon can be obtained by fast traveling at night to the Divination classroom, without the use of spells.
- Section Restricted (Library): Take a quick trip to the Library and head to the Restricted Section. Walk down the staircase to the wood-paneled room with the enchanted book on your left, then down the right-hand corridor. Find the demiguise on the small table just a few paces before one of the white Hogwarts Legacy eyeball chests.
Hogwarts legacy demiguise statues in Hogsmeade
The demiguise moons of Hogsmeade are plentiful, and many of them do not require Alohomora to obtain. They should get you to Alohomora II if you combine these five with the four above. Most of the main shops in Hogsmeade have demiguise statues hidden away, but these moons are the easiest to locate:
- Above the Three Broomsticks is a private room: If you use Revelio, enter the Three Broomsticks pub and head up the stairs. Once you unlock the private room, you’ll find another demiguise and a Field Guide page.
- Hog’s Head: At the Hog’s Head, you’ll find the demiguise on the counter.
- Scrolls and Tomes: You can find the demiguise in the side room on your left behind Tomes and Scrolls’ counter and shopkeeper.
- Wizard Wear Gladrags: As you enter Hogsmeade Square, you can see another demiguise on the counter of Gladrags.
- Waterwheel House: Just behind Zonko’s, you’ll find a waterwheel across the river, along with a moth painting and one more demiguise.
The moons you found so far should unlock Level 2 locks, so head back to Hogwarts and find Gladwyn in the Faculty Wing. Give him the moons you’ve found and he can unlock Level 2.
Get level 3 by collecting Hogwarts legacy demiguise statues
As soon as Gladwyn has the above nine moons, he will teach you Alohomora 2. In order to learn Alohomora 3, you will need 13 moons, so here are the ones you will need this time:
- Classroom for Beasts: Travel to the Beasts Classroom flame and use Alohomora 2 to break into the hut. The demiguise is sitting on the circular table in the room on your right.
- The house near Hog’s Head: There is a demiguise on top of the Hog’s Head pub, facing the food cart outside. Walk toward the cart and find the door locked with Alohomora 2.
- Next to J. Pippin’s Potions: Head upstairs to find the moon on the bedroom dresser of the house next to the potions shop in Hogsmeade.
- The house behind Honeyduke’s: You’ll find another demiguise statue on a small table near a house on your right-hand side after veering right outside Honeydukes and jumping down the ledge to the dirt path.
- Keendale: There’s no Alohomora spell required for this one, but it’s a bit far from the castle. Go to Keendale and find an unlocked house with pumpkins outside.
- Pitt-Upon-Ford: Take a fast-travel route to this hamlet, or fly there from San Bakar’s Tower. As you walk from the floo flame, just before the first bridge, head to the last house on the right. Break the lock to find the demiguise statue on the top floor.
- Feldcroft: Walk straight ahead from the floo flame point to the house with vines around the front door. Cast Alohomora to enter, and the demiguise is on the windowsill.
- Irondale: In nearby Irondale, enter the first house on your right after you reach the Floo Flame. Your character will alert you to the demiguise within.
- Arranshire: The demiguise is just inside the Level I locked door in the hamlet of Arranshire.
- Upper Hogsfield: You will find a demiguise in the second house on your left after you pass the floo flame point. It has a wooden wheel on its front door.
- Lower Hogsfield: The demiguise is to the right of the front door of the first house on your right as you arrive at the fast travel point.
- Dervish & Banges: The statue can be found on the counter in Dervish & Banges, just off Hogsmeade Square.
- Great Hall: In the Great Hall, walk to the lectern and take the left path. Turn around and you will see a locked door along the right wall. Use Alohomora to open it, and another demiguise moon awaits you.
The final 13 statues must be handed over to Gladwyn in order for him to teach you Alohomora 3.
