Here’s What’s New in PUBG Battlegrounds’ 22.2 Update

PUBG Battlegrounds’ next patch, 22.2, drops next week, bringing a brand new care package weapon: the FAMAS.

In addition to rebalancing several weapons, the patch commemorates the game’s sixth anniversary with themed billboards and other items. The patch launches on PC March 14 and console March 23.

Several of our well-known weapons will receive healthy balance updates in this update. We continuously monitor community feedback, analyze months’ worth of player data, and conduct extensive testing in order to ensure a balanced and enjoyable gameplay experience.”

All five PUBG maps are playable on normal mode – Erangel, Miramar, Deston, Taego, and Paramo – with Erangle, Miramar, and Taego rotating on ranked. Intense Battle Royale mode is making a comeback, too, simplifying standard mode to reduce playtime.

How about the sixth? This month, the team will celebrate “much more,” starting with an in-game collaboration with “celebrated toy designer and street art muralist Tristan Eaton,” who “designed a beautiful set of commemorative in-game billboards you will want to watch whenever you visit Erangel, Miramar, or Sanhok.”

A “special anniversary message event” will run through March 23 so players can ask questions and wish the team a happy anniversary. There will be 100 players selected to receive 6th anniversary-themed items, including metal posters and postcards.

Previous patch on January 17 and 25 focused mostly on map changes, most of which aim to improve traversal across, and around, the battle royale’s various maps.

It has announced it has begun as “active development” on a new project based on a Korean fantasy novel.

Yeong-do Lee’s novel series The Bird That Drinks Tears will be “a whole new experience” based on his “complex characters” and “elaborate worlds”.

Battle royale games aren’t just limited to PUBG, but there are plenty more to choose from. Play these ten games like PUBG if you’re looking for a new battle royale.
