There are two main missions you must complete before you can get a Hogwarts Legacy broomstick: Flying Class and Flight Test.
It takes a lot of skill before you can learn to fly in Hogwarts Legacy. You have to master specific Hogwarts Legacy spells in order to advance through the main questline as well as attend various lessons and do certain side quests. It’s not possible to get your own broom early if you’re playing through the main Hogwarts Legacy campaign. In addition to unlocking mounts in Hogwarts Legacy, we can also provide you with that information.
Do you know how to unlock broomsticks in Hogwarts Legacy?
Once you complete Madame Kogawa’s Flying Class mission, you can purchase a broomstick from Sprintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
Unlock the Flying Class mission
After you’ve unlocked the spell Expelliarmus, which is taught to you after completing Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2, you’ll receive a main quest target to take to Madame Kogawa’s Flying class. The story’s progress basically locks everything down. Check out our Hogwarts Legacy tips. So make sure to check out the missions to see what’s available to unlock.
In this class, you’ll learn how to fly on a school-issued broomstick, and one of your classmates will show you the grounds of Hogwarts aerially. Kogawa will be disappointed with you both when you return to class for straying from the task, but she will still commend your flying skills.
Buying a broom in Hogwarts Legacy
After your first flight lesson, take a floo flame or walk into Hogsmeade. Find Sprintwitches Sporting Needs on your map of Hogsmeade. Set a waypoint and walk there, since this is the easiest place to buy your first broomstick. In Hogsmeade, you’ll meet Albie Weekes, the storekeeper. Albie explains that the store had been closed until recently, so he wasn’t able to sell you a broomstick earlier.
A Hogwarts Legacy broomstick should not cost too much. The first broom will cost about 600 coins, but more expensive options can be found outside Hogsmeade if you need something more luxurious. Whenever you explore the world, loot chests, pots, and bags, and sell your unwanted gear to vendors if you’re short on cash.
What is the most popular Hogwarts Legacy broom?
Brooms in Hogwarts Legacy all perform the same way. The only real difference is how they look. When you complete missions like Flight Test and Sweeping The Competition, Sprintwitches’ vendor Albie will upgrade your broomsticks to speed up, regardless of which one you own.
The right way to use your broomstick outside
The Flight Test mission must be completed before you are able to fly with your broom. Once you have purchased your broom, you must return to Hogwarts by floo flames, and you must then speak with Imelda Reyes in the Quidditch pitch. She challenges you to beat her high score in a race around the castle after a conversation.
Flying through yellow speed bubbles will make you go faster in this agility trial, so you must swoop through all the hoops as quickly as possible. Your time will be reduced if you miss any hoops by mistake. The first Flight Test mission shouldn’t be too difficult, and each subsequent attempt will be tougher.
You can fly whenever you’re in open space once you complete the Flight Test mission. Press L1 to open your gear menu, Circle or B to jump, and you’ll see a red strike through the image of the flying creature on your HUD. This is because you’re in a zone that prohibits flying. When the icon disappears, you can mount your broom and take off. When you see views like these, you won’t mind taking the long route around Hogsmeade.
