Trainers will want to know the best counters to defeat Nihilego because it will shortly return to Pokemon Go raids.
Starting on November 23 and continuing through December 1 in Five-Star Raids, a special Rock and Poison-type Ultra Beast will be accessible. Trainers will then be able to locate Nihilego in any Five-Star Raid, no matter where it may appear.
During specific Raid Hours, Trainers will have greater opportunities to beat and capture this strong Pokemon. Nihilego will be present in every raid between the hours of 6-7 p.m. local time between November 23 and November 30, increasing your chances of finding this Pokemon that resembles a jellyfish.

Pokemon Go Nihilego Raid Counters
As a Pokemon of the Rock and Poison type, Nihilego has numerous vulnerabilities that trainers can take advantage of. Water, psychic, steel, and ground-type attacks will fail to harm the Ultra Beast. Trainers should choose Pokemon that are capable of using Ground attacks because Nihielgo is four times weaker to them than those moves.
The only Mega Pokemon with the Ground typing at the moment is Mega Steelix. Although it doesn’t have the best moveset, the fact that it can use both Ground and Steel-type techniques provides it with an advantage in combat and allows it to take advantage of Nihielgo’s weaknesses in both types. Trainers wishing to include every type of Ground Pokémon should use Steelix along with additional strongholds like Garchomp, Groudon, and Rhyperior. Landorus, Excadrill, Golem, and Mamoswine are also excellent options.
Mega Steelix is a viable option for Steel-type teams, but Mega Aggron is generally preferable. Great Steel Pokemon to utilise on the team include Metagross and Excadrill.
The reason why bringing in an all-Psychic team is likely the second-best choice after bringing in a Ground team is mostly due to the potent Megas that use this typing. Strong adversaries that can quickly eliminate Nihilego include Mega Alakazam and Mega Latios/Latias. It’s best to use these potent Megas with other Pokemon like Mewtwo. Trainers are still effective even if they only utilise regular Latios or Latias.
With Mega Gyarados and other potent attackers like Swampert and Kyogre, water-type teams can still be successful in this raid despite being probably the least useful.

Pokemon Go Nihilego Moveset
Nihilego primarily uses moves from the Rock and Poison categories because of his nature. The teams who use Ground and Steel kinds, which are resistant to Nihilego’s poison and rock strikes, will fare well in combat.
The only non-Poison/Rock move that the Ultra Beast is aware of is Pound, a Normal-type attack that Steel types can also resist. Because of this, Nihilego’s attacks are no match for Pokemon like Steelix and Excadrill.
The moves of Nihilego are all unavoidable for psychic types, but if they have a secondary typing, such as Metagross’ Steel typing, they can withstand Nihilego’s attacks longer. It should be fine though because psychic teams are actually only there to quickly deplete Nihilego’s Health to zero.
