Children of Silentown, which is developed by Elf Games, is an experience that may change your life. Well, maybe I’m exaggerating a bit, but this reminds me of my first Journey playthrough. That game gave me every emotion there is to feel, and I am pleased to say this one gave me some as well. Honestly, I can’t decide which I like better. What I do know is that this game is what video games should be. One of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time, it was a great surprise for me. Here is my review of Children of Silentown.

Final Score: 9/10
Regardless of the genre, I believe the story is the most important part of video game design. It may be a puzzle, an RPG, or even a racing game, but there has to be a story. Keeping the game running by defining characters, settings, objectives, the main issue, etc. ensures its success. Personally, I wouldn’t say I like point-and-click games. In order to feel good and comfortable with a game, I sometimes need action and speed, but I’m willing to let go. There is one condition: the main story must be breathtaking. Children of Silentown has left me breathless since I started playing it.
There are a few times when this game floored me, but I’m not going to spoil anything. The themes are very personal, and I needed some catharsis. The game let me do that. There isn’t much to say really, I encourage you to play this game with patience and an open mind, perhaps some puzzles are overly complex, at least for me they were, but they’re worth it. I highly recommend you pick this game up as soon as possible, as it is well worth it. The game Children of Silentown messed me up, in a good way.
The game is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows, and macOS.
