Big in 2023: Your Guide to the Most Anticipated Games of the Year

Classes and Subclasses

Choosing one of the Destiny 2 Classes for your character is the first thing you’ll need to do if you’re a new player because this will decide their Guardian function inside the Destiny universe, which in turn will dictate their skills. You can have several different Super abilities and more by choosing to be a tough Titan, a quick Hunter, or a sagely Warlock.

Three Subclasses are available to you once you’ve selected your Class and formed your characters; additional Subclasses can be unlocked by completing the campaigns of specific expansions. More Subclasses can be switched between at any time. Additionally, you may use Fragments to change your Subclasses’ Aspects, which are likened to their Subclasses, to give them additional abilities, allowing you to design unique and potent builds for diverse activities, like our Destiny 2 Solar builds.

Tips

Destiny 2 is a rather intimidating game that may be challenging to get into because it has a tutorial that is only really little and new content that is released fairly frequently with regular seasons and large annual expansions. The fundamentals of Destiny 2 as well as a few other concepts, such as how armour functions and weapon stats, are hopefully covered in this guide.

Weekly Reset

The weekly reset for Destiny 2 is one of the most crucial game mechanics to be aware of. Many of the game’s tasks are reset every Tuesday, allowing you to play through them again for even better loot the following week. Other tasks undergo rotations and modifications every week, presenting new difficulties and keeping things interesting.

Lightfall

A new campaign, a fifth Subclass type for each Class, and a new location in the form of Neomuna—the spotless, cutting-edge capital of Neptune—are all included in the upcoming major addition to the game, Destiny 2 Lightfall. To stop Neomuna from collapsing, Guardians will have to battle the Shadow Legion and join forces with brave Cloud Strider soldiers. Lightfall will be enormous and will include a new Raid, new enemies, and of course tonnes of new loot.

Best Exotic Weapons and Armor

The loot rarity system in Destiny 2 is very basic, with different colours denoting the quality of various items of gear—yellow denoting the greatest rarity, Exotic. There are many Destiny 2 Exotics to select from, so follow our guide to determine which ones you should prioritise. In addition to a solid Subclass build, your Guardian will also need a collection of some of the best Exotics to be ready for any action. This is how the complete gear rarity scale operates:

Heroic Public Events

You’ll benefit greatly from knowing how to start and finish Destiny 2 Heroic Public Events when you’re out on patrol. Every Public Event in Destiny 2 has a secret objective that must be completed in order to be Heroic; some of these objectives can be found accidentally, while others require a lot of attention. Once an event has been upgraded to Heroic, finishing it will result in higher rewards and significant Glimmer payouts.

Crucible

You can compete against a group of other Guardians in objective-based games in The Crucible, which is Destiny 2’s version of arena-based PvP. You may need some Destiny 2 Crucible hints to aid you out because it’s such a drastic change of pace from all the other PvE activities.

Additionally, The Crucible hosts regular events such as the weekly Trials of Osiris, which begin on Friday, and the Iron Banner, which only occurs a few times per season and lasts a full week. The ultimate tiny Crucible battle, Trials of Osiris pits two teams of three Guardians against one another in an elimination phase. Get on a winning run and you’ll be handsomely rewarded, plus you might win a trip to the Lighthouse where you’ll find even better loot. The only chaotic 6v6 variants available in Iron Banner are for larger teams. You must finish the Iron Banner challenges in Destiny 2 to earn the finest prizes.

Gambit

A distinctive Destiny 2 mode called Gambit blends PvE with a little frenzied PvP. In essence, you’ll be up against another team in a race to kill adversaries, collect the Motes they drop into your Bank, and take down the monster at the end. Although the teams compete in separate arenas, one player may occasionally invade the opposing squad to stir up trouble. Learn about some effective tactics for securing victory by reading our Destiny 2 Gambit advice.

Seasonal Guides

Season 19

In the ongoing Destiny 2 Season of the Seraph, the Guardians are engaged in combat with Xivu Arath’s Wrathborn army and are working to revive Rasputin, a former solar system protector, as well as the Warmind AI. Heist Battlegrounds objectives will need you to sneak into abandoned Seraph Bunkers, look for sub-mind information for Rasputin’s restoration, and eliminate the Wrathborn danger. Our Season of the Seraph guide has more information about Operations, Heists, a brand-new Exotic quest, and all the loot you may find.

Season 18

As Guardians battled pirate crews of Eliksni enemies to recover powerful artefacts from the past, piratical activities were first featured in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder under the names Ketchcrash and Expeditions. Even though the current season is over, you can still participate in all of the activities up until Lightfall’s release to catch up on the plot and obtain any loot appropriate for a scallywag.
