Beginner’s Guide to Rune Factory 5: Tips and Tricks

Rune Factory 5 became the latest entry in the long-running and beloved fantasy farming sim series. Some tips and tricks continue to be shared by word of mouth alone, some of which are so shockingly simple but have such a profound impact on the game. Here’s our best tips and tricks that everyone should know about, especially newcomers. They will be a huge help to you as you embark on your new Nintendo Switch or PC journey!

Tip 1: Prioritize making friends as your main goal

It is worth your time and effort to build rapport and comradery with Rigbarth’s many NPCs. First of all, giving NPCs their favorite items will result in a lot of great rewards. Gifting them multiple times results in this. When you give Darroch a gift for the fifth time, he will always give you weapons for free. Obviously this increases their relationship meter with the player character, and that leads to them accepting whenever you invite them out onto expeditions.

It is always a good idea to take an NPC out when exploring the fields for a variety of reasons. Their observation will reveal out-of-reach items that can only be acquired through their observation, regardless of whether they are a loyal animal/pet companion. Particular characters will provide even more benefits than just this or for dungeon clearing reasons, such as Elsje.

Once you have Elsje befriended enough to join your party, there is a neat trick you can do. Once this is done, endanger yourself in combat until you are really low on health. To recover your health, move to a safe location during combat and wait for Elsje to throw a Royal Curry. Sell this item instead of using it to restore your health. Royal Curry’s net profit is 500000g.

This trick has been somewhat patched out for the Japanese version 1.07. However, the curry must not touch your character when Elsje throws it, or else your health will be automatically restored. To pick up the curry later, you will have to avoid getting hit by it

Finally, chatting to NPCs daily boosts their relationship meter, but using the Greeting Spell daily also contributes. By simply tapping a button, you can raise friendship levels even faster.

Tip 2: Learn how to farm better and smarter

Our point has been made loud and clear above, so may we add one more? We will focus on the farming side of things this time. When you get better at tending to your farm space (and more once you unlock Dragon Farms), there are a lot of tricks to learn. First of all, stacking items on top of one another makes picking up and holding them easier. Got too many weeds obstructing the beautiful scenery right outside your doorstep? Pick up ten of them at a time then fling them into the Fertilizer Bin!

Additionally, holding down the action button while pushing the directional button will make the player character water more quickly. The entire daily chore can be handled in a flash when you are mining on your farm land or in Farm Dragons. To do this, simply hit all the rocks and trees in the area up to eight times. Leave the area and come back into it and the technical health bars of these sources will have refreshed so that you can keep tapping away at them for unlimited resources.

Take advantage of this tactic to accumulate resources rapidly and easily by keeping food on hand or taking a bath at the inn. As a beginner, you can make the most of this by taking baths for free before you reach level 20. Finally, when placing items in the shipping bin, you can throw items you are holding to save even more time. Tending to your farm space has never been so easy.

Tip 3: Random titbits of additional pointers

You don’t have to overthink cooking or purchasing Recipe Breads. It is important that players are free to make up their own weapons and dishes without knowing recipes. Failed dishes have their own benefits after all, such as being thrown at enemies. It is worth buying them whenever however, especially in how the amount that can be bought refreshes daily. And even if eating the Bread does not make the player character learn something new, it does not leave your inventory space. Either option is viable.

Are you low on RP? You can start a conversation while your game is running. When you return to it after a few minutes, your RP bar will be full again.

Boost your combat skills in the comfort of your own home with multiple punching bags from Palmo. It’s easier to explore all that!

That’s all we have for you when it comes to Rune Factory 5’s most helpful tips and tricks!
