Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the 1800s, over 100 years before Harry Potter. You won’t run into Harry, Ron, or Hermione at Hogwarts. Your character comes to Hogwarts late, starting in your fifth year behind your classmates. Hogwarts is where you’ll pick your house and take classes. Professor Fig will direct your character in solving the mysteries and secrets of Hogwarts castle. A Goblin rebellion is gaining traction with dark wizard support. You can cast spells in combat and dodge-roll in Hogwarts Legacy, a third-person action game. You’ll use your class spells to solve puzzles and combat encounters at Hogwarts. You can then use potion mixing and herbology to create powerful potions or to create screaming Mandrakes for combat. Classes teach you new skills, but magical gear can also make your wizard more powerful.
In Hogwarts Legacy, players can mix offensive and defensive spells to their liking. In the PlayStation State of Play for Hogwarts Legacy, the player character casts the Unforgivable Curse, Avada Kedavra, so you may be able to go dark. Hogwarts Legacy will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 10, 2023. The more expensive edition starts 72 hours earlier, on February 7. Hogwarts Legacy will launch on April 4 for PS4 and Xbox One, and July 25 for Switch. Originally scheduled for 2021, Hogwarts Legacy was delayed to 2022 and then to 2023.
