Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon was announced at last night’s Game Awards. There’s actually a playable teaser for the game in Bayonetta 3 – it’s been there since launch. Until now, it wasn’t clear what the hidden chapter was about, but the teaser shows off the new childlike visuals.
How do you access it? It requires players to buy the Old Picture Book from Rodin’s shop, The Gates of Hell, with halos and unlock it with three keys hidden in the levels. Upon opening the book, the player is transported inside. There’s a fairytale style, a Cheshire Cat demon, and a young girl you can play as.
It’s short and doesn’t give much away, but it does hint at the game’s plot – Cereza wants to save her mom. Visually it’s gorgeous, but it’s nothing like the main series. The Switch version of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon will be released on 17th March 2023.
