Unannounced AAA fantasy action RPG Techland has released the first concept art. The development team recently recruited talent from Arkane and CD Projekt Red. A man looks at a lush city surrounded by pink vegetation, lush trees, and waterfalls. The archetecture of this ruin isn’t traditional medieval England in its aesthetic, so AAA fantasy may take a left turn here. Both Karolina Stachyra and Arkadiusz Borowik previously worked on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for this new IP.
The rest of the team has similar backgrounds. Former Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3 director Bartosz Ochman was recently recruited. In addition to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Mad Max, Mario Maltezos worked on Deathloop. In addition to Kevin Quad, Marcin Surosz was the lead UI designer at People Can Fly. “It is our pleasure to share with you what we have achieved with Dying Light,” Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka explained. The scope and size of Dying Light 2 Stay Human will match, if not exceed, that of its predecessor during its post-launch support.”
In addition, we are looking to introduce a brand new IP that will be vastly different from anything we have done previously. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we’ve gained as a team over the years, blended with new ideas, passion, and creativity. We’re all excited about this project, but we can’t talk about it right now.” Techland is hiring more developers for an unannounced fantasy game. Studios are trying to court more talent by teasing high profile projects on social media or showing them off in game showcases, such as Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell remake. Techland is planning to produce a new IP even though many developers are staying on with Dying Light 2.
