In switching to Unreal Engine 5.1, Fortnite newest chapter brings a “completely new island to explore, new ways to navigate, as well as newly-forged weapons”.
With the new development engine, Epic says players will be able to experience “next-gen Fortnite” with Nanite, Lumen, Virtual Shadow Maps, and Temporal Super Resolution.
New locations include The Citadel, Frenzy Fields, and Brutal Bastion, which is nestled in the snowy mountains, as well as new augmented abilities.
Epic explains that during your match, you will receive a randomized choice of two Reality Augments to customize your play.
Your weapons that use Light Ammo will reload faster, and your Glider will redeploy for the rest of your match with Aerialist.
With that new Battle Pass, you’ll receive the “celestial-connected” Selene immediately, and you’ll unlock Doom Slayer, The Ageless, and The Witcher’s formidable Geralt over time.
As Heather wrote in her feature, In 2022, I finally stepped into Fortnite to play Naruto and Han Solo.
A moment later, I’m standing in Spawn Island as Naruto, awaiting my first proper Battle Royale session with my brother, who’s wearing Kakashi Hatake to match mine. A player plays Goku from Dragon Ball Z, while Daryl from The Walking Dead stands nearby. I see Naruto wielding a rifle as I parachute down from the Battle Bus.
