“We understand there’s been some confusion,” Infinity Ward says
After “confusion” arose about an in-game store exclusive reward, the studio developing Modern Warfare 2 is giving bonus XP tokens to all players who own or buy the Vault Edition. According to the statement, there was some confusion about an in-game-store exclusive award for the vault edition. It’s been shared on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s social media.
Due to this, we’re rewarding all players who own or buy the MWII Vault Edition with 10 hours of double XP and 10 hours of double weapon XP. As for current owners, they’ll see the tokens in their accounts within 48 hours if they haven’t already received them.
Everyone’s not on board, though. Videos have been shared of people trying to replicate the issue(opens in new tab) and claiming there is no “aim bot”, resulting in some divisive responses on both sides.
This is one of the many problems Modern Warfare 2 has had since launch, including a bug that forced Infinity Ward to disable attachment tuning (opens in new tab) “until further notice.” The feature was only enabled yesterday (November 4). Additionally, Infinity Ward disabled its ping system after complaints about a “wallhack” bug surfaced. Just a few hours after Modern Warfare 2 launched, players noticed the ping system wasn’t working. Infinity Ward hasn’t announced anything.
In our review of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, we said the mainline Call of Duty games felt directionless post-Warzone. As far as I’m concerned, Modern Warfare 2 is the natural progression from where Infinity Ward left off in 2019, and Warzone 2 is a fantastic place to start. The faster, more unflinching approach to firefights isn’t for everyone, but if you can get into its rhythm, it’s awesome.”
