The PSVR 2 comes out in February, and it costs more than a PS5

Here’s the price and release date for Sony’s next-gen VR headset

PlayStation has announced that PSVR 2 will release on February 22, 2023. As well as the headset, the PlayStation VR2 comes with two PSVR 2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones. You’ll have to break open the piggy bank to get even just that, which costs $549.99 – more than a PS5.

The PlayStation VR2 bundle will also include Horizon Call of the Mountain for roughly $50 more. Both bundles have the same artwork and a PlayStation Store voucher code inside. PlayStation has also announced 11 new titles coming to the PSVR 2(opens in new tab). There’s no specific release date for the new games, but everyone is expecting them to drop in 2023, and several will be available for pre-order starting November 15th.

There are 11 new PSVR 2 games coming out, but The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR from Supermassive Games and Cities VR – Enhanced Edition from Fast Travel Games are likely to be the most popular. Players can take a ride through a ghost ship and 17th-century New England in the former VR entry in the developer’s The Dark Pictures Anthology, while the latter is just what it sounds like: a VR version of Cities: Skylines.
